T he di methyl para toluidine is referred to in NI OSH toxic substance
directory. T he Accelerator itself should be regarded as toxic if
taken by mouth or via continual skin exposure. However, in the
concentration used in the final resin mix little toxic hazard exists,
especially since the concentrations are of the same order as those
used in dental resins cured in the mouth.
________________________________________________________________
T he Accelerator is combustible. T he flash point of the Accelerator exceeds 120oC.
Do not combine equal amounts of catalyzed resin and accelerator
as a high exotherm will result, with the potential for the curing
resin to fume or even boil. Do not add Accelerator to catalyzed resin
in an enclosed rigid container as pressure may increase within the
vessel causing its explosive rupture.
