ROUTE OF ENTRY: [XX] SKIN [XX] EYE CONTACT [XX] INHALATION [XX] INGESTION
EYE CONTACT: Vapours from this product are irritating to the eye. Splashes to the eye may cause severe
irritation, redness and pain. Burns (chemical) can occur if not promptly removed.
SKIN CONTACT: Brief contact causes irritation (itching, local redness or possible swelling). Burns (chemical) can
occur if not promptly removed.
INGESTION: This product causes severe burning and pain in the mouth, throat and abdomen. Vomiting,
diarrhoea and perforation of the oesophagus and stomach lining may occur.
INHALATION: Product may cause severe irritation of the nose, throat and respiratory tract.
SECTION IV: FIRST AID MEASURES
SKIN CONTACT: Wash affected area with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Remove and clean
contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
EYE CONTACT: If splashed into the eyes, flush with clear water for 15 minutes by holding eye open while
flushing. Seek immediate medical attention.
INGESTION: Drink plenty of water; do not induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical aid. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
INHALATION: Remove patient to fresh air. Apply artificial respiration if breathing has stopped. If difficulty
breathing, administer oxygen. Seek immediate medical attention.

SECTION VI: FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
FLASH POINT: 11 C
FLAMMABLE LIMITS: Upper 36% Lower 1.0%
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Use carbon dioxide or dry chemical media for small fires. If
only water is available, use it in the form of a fog. This
material may produce a floating fire hazard in extreme fire
conditions.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Use water spray to cool fire-exposed containers or
structures. Use water spray to disperse vapours; re-ignition
is possible. Isolate materials that are not involved in the fire
and protect personnel. Cool containers with flooding
quantities of water until well after the fire is out. Spilled
material may cause floors and contact surfaces to become
slippery.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: None Known
SECTION VII: REACTIVITY DATA
STABILITY: Stable [XX] Unstable [ ]
INCOMPATIBILITY (CONDITIONS TO AVOID): Oxidizers, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, halogen, molten sulphur
acids/
CONDITIONS OF REACTIVITY: Contact with acids leads to sulphur dioxide fumes
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Oxides of sulphur/nitrogen
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Will Not Occur [XX] May Occur [ ]
VIII: PREVENTIVE MEASURES
SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: A NIOSH/MSHA approved air-purifying respirator equipped
with organic cartridges for concentrations up to 30ppm
Monoethanolamine or 50ppm or 200ppm Methanol or
1000ppm organic vapours.
VENTILATION: Suggested local mechanical exhaust. Ventilation should be
corrosion and explosion proof.

MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET
PROTECTIVE GLOVES: Suggest plastic or rubber
EYE PROTECTION: Safety glasses with side shields are recommended to prevent
eye contact. Contact lenses should not be worn when working
with this material.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (Specify): Wear an impermeable apron and boots. Locate safety shower
and eyewash station close to chemical handling area. Take all
precautions to avoid personal contact.
PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORING
Avoid ingestion. Practice reasonable caution and personal cleanliness. Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid practices
that produce dust. Store away from heat, flame and spark source. Store in a cool, dry area; moisture will spoil
product.
STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE THE MATERIAL IS SPILLED OR RELEASED
Remove all sources of ignition. Contain spill. Absorb material on appropriate non-flammable absorbent and shovel
into compatible containers. Avoid all bodily contact. Appropriate breathing apparatus must be worn if ventilation is
inadequate. Do not allow product to enter sewers or storm water inlets.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD
Dispose of in accordance with federal, provincial and local regulations. It is the responsibility of the user to
determine if contaminated material meets hazardous waste requirements.
