The following is based on P&G safety information for C10 - C16 and C14 - C18 alkyl dimethylamines:
Acute Oral Toxicity (Albino Rats)
LD50 = 1.1 g/kg. (C10 - C16 alkyl dimethylamines)
LD50 = 1.0 g/kg. (C14 - C18 alkyl dimethylamines)

Eye Irritation (Rabbits)
Undiluted product, with no rinsing of the eyes after instillation, produced severe eye irritation. The severity of the response
decreased with rinsing.

Skin Irritation (Rabbits)
Undiluted product applied to the clipped, intact and abraded skin for 24 hours produced severe to corrosive skin response in
rabbits.
Primary Irritation Index = 7.0
Degree of Irritancy = Severe

Skin Sensitization (Guinea Pigs)
In a repeated insult patch test a 25% aqueous alkyl benzene sulfonate solution of product was applied to the clipped backs
of guinea pigs for 6 hours, once a week for 4 weeks. No sensitization was noted.
