11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

No toxicological data are available for this specific material (C16-22-alkyldimethylamine). The following is P&G safety
information for C14 - C18 alkyl dimethylamines, a close chemical analogue whose toxicological profile is expected
to be similar.

Acute Oral Toxicity (Albino Rats)
LD50 = 1.0 g/kg. (C14 - C18 alkyl dimethylamines)

Eye Irritation (Rabbits)
Undiluted product, with no rinsing of the eyes after instillation, produced severe eye irritation. The severity of the response
decreased with rinsing.

Skin Irritation (Rabbits)
Undiluted product applied to the clipped, intact and abraded skin for 24 hours produced severe to corrosive skin response
in rabbits.
Primary Irritation Index = 7.0
Degree of Irritancy = Severe

Skin Sensitization (Guinea Pigs)
In a repeated insult patch test a 25% aqueous alkyl benzene sulfonate solution of product was applied to the clipped backs
of guinea pigs for 6 hours, once a week for 4 weeks. No sensitization was noted.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

The following data is for 1-Octadecanamine, N, N-dimethyl (CAS RN 124-28-7), although expected to be
similar for related C16-22-alkyldimethylamine (75444-69-8).

Biodegradation: inherently degradable based on OECD 301B
Toxic to freshwater and marine species.

River Water:
LC50 96 hr. = 2.1 mg/l Bluegill
LC50 48 hr. = 0.35 mg/l Daphnia magna

Filtered Sea Water:
LC50 96 hr. = 8.8 mg/l Sheepshead minnow
LC50 96 hr. = 0.074 mg/l Mysid shrimp
