2. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Main hazards: Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed.
Other hazards: Spraying in a horizontal or inverted position may release butane propellant.Deliberate inhalation
abuse could be fatal in extreme cases. Cans may rupture if heated to excess.

3. COMPOSITION / INFORMATION ON INGREDIENTS

4. FIRST AID MEASURES (SYMPTOMS)

Skin contact: There may be mild irritation at the site of contact.
Eye contact: There may be irritation and redness.
Ingestion: The swallowing of small amounts is unlikely to have adverse effects. May cause lung damage if
swallowed.
Inhalation: Fumes or vapour may cause irritation, nausea or drowsiness.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES (ACTION)

Skin contact: Wash contaminated skin immediately with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and
launder before re-use.
Eye contact: Wash immediately with clean water for at least 10 minutes, while lifting eye lids. If any soreness
or irritation persists seek medical advice.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth and throat thoroughly. Give about 1/2 pint of liquid to drink. Obtain immediate
medical advice. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING DUE TO THE DANGER OF ASPIRATION.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide. Dry chemical powder.
Exposure hazards: In combustion emits toxic fumes of carbon dioxide / carbon monoxide.
Protection of fire-fighters: Protect containers from heat by cooling with water spray. Wear self-contained breathing
apparatus.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Personal precautions: Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective clothing - see section 8 of SDS.
Environmental precautions: Dispose of as special waste. Do not allow to contaminate watercourses or rivers. If container is
ruptured, extinguish all sources of ignition. Ventilate area, particulaly at low level.
Clean-up procedures: Absorb into dry earth or sand.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

Handling requirements: Wear suitable personal protective equipment, as detailed in section 8. Avoid contact with skin
and eyes. Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area. Do not handle in a confined space.
If the product is to be used for an application other than that stated on the label, contact
Technical Services Hotline (01773 880367) to check suitability.
Storage conditions: Store in cool, well ventilated area. Keep away from sources of ignition.
Suitable packaging: Must only be kept in original packaging.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Engineering measures: Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the area. Monitor exposure using suitable equipment
such as Drager Air Pump. Ensure TWA is not exceeded.
Respiratory protection: Unlikely to be required in normal use. Use in well ventilated area. It is suggested that exposure
is kept within the Occupational Exposure Limits for vapours established by the Reciprocal
Calculation Procedure for mixed exposures to hydrocarbon solvents in HSE Guidance Note
EH40: (8 hour TWA reference period) - 800 mg/cubic metre.
Hand protection: Wear nitrile or plastic coated solvent resistant gloves. Take further advice from reputable glove
maufacturer / supplier regarding suitability /useful contact time of their recommended gloves.
Eye protection: Wear suitable eye protection such as safety goggles or a face shield.
Skin protection: Not required under normal conditions or unless contact is prolonged.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Routes of exposure: Inhalation - May cause irritation to eyes, nose and throat following exposue to mists, vapours
and fumes. Skin Contact- May cause irritation / dryness or defatting of the skin with prolonged
contact. Eye contact- Irritant and may cause inflammation. Ingestion - May cause
gastrointestinal inflammation. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING DUE TO THE DANGER OF
ASPIRATION.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Persistence and degradability: Aquatic Pollutant. Do not allow to enter water courses or sewers. Expected to biodegrade
slowly.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Disposal operations: Do not puncture or incinerate even when empty.
Disposal of packaging: Empty completely. Dispose of as normal industrial waste.
NB: The user's attention is drawn to the possible existence of regional or national regulations
regarding disposal.
