Disposal of Kodak Approval Proofing Film
A Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) test was performed on a representative
sample of these materials to determine the proper classification of these materials and the
associated disposal requirements.
A representative sample of Kodak Approval Digital Color Proofing Film was tested at Eastman Kodak's
Analytical Laboratories. This media does not exhibit the Toxicity Characteristic (TC); and in addition does
not exhibit the other hazardous waste characteristics (i.e., ignitability, corrosivity or reactivity).
Based on the test results from this sample and process knowledge, the Kodak Approval Digital Color
Proofing Films would not be classified as a hazardous waste for disposal purposes as defined by USEPA.
However, we recommend our customers contact the municipal or industrial disposal facility in their area to
verify this media may be safely disposed at their specific facility.
The used Kodak Approval material has not been tested for purposes other than its original intent. We,
therefore, recommend that used Approval media not be used for other purposes, such as arts and crafts
projects, until appropriate tests have been conducted.
