Section 6 鈥? HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Health Hazards: May be harmul if swallowed or absorbed through skin. Avoid contact
with eyes. Do not inhale dust.
Routes of Entry and First-Aid Procedures:
Eyes: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 30 minutes, occassionally lifting upper
and lower eyelids. Get medical attention immediately. Do not allow victim to rub or keep
eyes closed.
Inhalation: Get medical attention immediately. Remove from exposure to fresh air
immediately. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Do not use mouth-to-mouth
resuscitation.
Skin: Immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Seek
immediate, medical attention.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If victim is alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Get medical attention immediately.
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure: Irritation or burning of eyes. Dermatitis, irritation, or
burning of skin. GI-tract burns. Burns to respiratory tract with sore throat, coughing,
shortness of breath, and delayed lung edema. Delayed kidney damage.
Medical Conditions Aggravated by Exposure: Pre-existing kidney disorders.

Respirator Protection: OSHA鈥檚 29 CFR 1910.134 and ANSI Z88.2 whenever workplace
conditions warrant use of a respirator.
Ventilation: Sufficient to keep airborne concentrations low.
Protective Gloves: Impervious rubber. Eye Protection: Safety
glasses or goggles in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.133
Other Protective Equipment: Eye wash station and safety shower.
Work and Hygienic Practices: Consistent with good laboratory practice. Wash before
eating or using the restroom.

Storage Method: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from sources of ignition
or incompatible materials.
