Section 6 鈥? HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Effects of Overexposure
Swallowing: May cause abdominal discomfort or pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, malaise,
blurring of vision, irritability, lumbar pain, oliguria, uremia and central nervous system effects, including
irregular eye movements, convulsions and coma. Cardiac failure and pulmonary edema may develop. Severe
kidney damage is possible and death may occur if more than a few (3) ounces of ethylene glycol are
swallowed.
Skin Absorption: No evidence of harmful effects from available information
Inhalation: May cause irritation to the nose and throat with headache, particularly from mist. High
concentrations of vapor, by heating the material in an enclosed and poorly ventilated workplace, may cause
nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and irregular eye movements.
Skin Contact: No evidence of harmful effects from available data.
Eye Contact: Injury to the cornea is not expected. Vapors may be moderately irritating, experienced as
discomfort, excess blinking and tear production, with excess redness and swelling of the conjunctiva.
ROUTE OF ENTRY Eye contact, breathing, skin contact, skin absorption, swallowing.
TARGET ORGANS, MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE Not fully known, however, the
CNS, lung, eye, liver, GI tract, spleen, blood, and kidney could be affected by exposure. Preexisting skin and
eye disorders could be aggravated by exposure to this type of product.
Emergency and First Aid Measures
EYES: Flush the solution out of the eyes immediately.
Flush the eyes with copious amount of water for at least 15 minutes while forcibly holding the eye lids apart.
This will ensure adequate flushing of the entire surface area. Washing out the eyes within the first few
seconds is essential to achieve maximum effectiveness. Seek medical attention if necessary.
SKIN: Wash the entire area contacted with plenty of water for a least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated
clothing and footwear. Wash clothing before reuse and discard leather articles such as shoes and belts. Seek
medical attention if necessary.
INHALATION: Remove individual to fresh air; if breathing is difficult have a trained individual administer
oxygen. If respiration stops, give mouth to mouth resuscitation. Get immediate medical attention.
INGESTION: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person! If swallowed, give large quantities of
water "INDUCE VOMITING". If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep airway clear. Get immediate medical
attention.
Routes of Exposure:
Inhalation: Airborne concentrations of mist or spray may cause damage to the upper respiratory tract and
lung tissue.
Skin: This product may cause skin irritation. A latent period may exist between exposure and sense of
irritation.
