suspended in air in critical proportions and in the presence of an ignition source may present an explosion
hazard.
Section IV. First Aid Measures
Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids.
Eye Contact
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. Gently and thoroughly wash the contaminated

Fire Hazards
Special Remarks on Explosion As with any dry material, pouring or allowing to free-fall or to be conveyed through chutes or pipes can
Hazards accumulate and generate electrostatic sparks, potentially causing ingnition of the material itself, or if any
flammable materials which may come in contact with the material or its container.
Section VI. Accidental Release Measures
Put spilled solid in a waste disposal container. Finish cleaning by spreading water on the contaminated

surface and dispose of according to local and regional authority requirements.
Our database contains no additional information in case of a spill and/or a leak of the product. Use a shovel
Large Spill
to put the material into a convenient waste disposal container.
Section VII. Handling and Storage
Product slowly degrades on storage particularly under warm, humid conditions. Keep stocks below 40 deg C,

Inhalation of high concentrations may cause irritation or discomfort.
Inhalation
Although animal data suggests limited to no acute irritation of this product, occupational exposure has been
Remark
reported to cause irritation to the eyes, skin and upper respiratory tract. Allergic skin reactions have also
been reported in skin tests with human subjects.
CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS Not available.
:
Chronic Effects on
MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: CBTS was evaluated in the L5178TK mouse lymphoma mutation assay and in
Humans
microbial mutagenicity assays. The microbial assays used five Salmonella strains, with and without
microsomal activation, and one Saccharomyces yeast strain. No mutagenic effects were demonstrated in any
of these assays.
TERATOGENIC EFFECTS: No teratogenic effects were observed when groups of 25 mated female rats were
treated orally with CBTS at dosages of 100,300, or 500 mg/kg on days 6-15 of gestation. However, a
published study reports an increase in embryonic mortality and a slight decrease in fetal body weight at 2000
mg/kg. Also, 2000 mg/kg of CBTS administered orally to female and male rats prior to mating, caused an
increase in total embryonic mortality with treated females and in untreated females mated with treated males.
