Health Effects
Acute - Swallowed Ingestion of large amounts may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and cramps. In
addition, symptoms of potassium poisoning may occur, including slow heartbeat,
accelerated breathing, muscle weakness and, in severe cases, paralysis.
Acute - Eye May cause mild irritation.
Acute - Inhaled Dust and mist may be irritating to nose and throat, causing coughing and choking.
Chronic Repeated or prolonged skin contact may cause dermatitis.
First Aid
Swallowed Rinse mouth thoroughly with water immediately. Give water to drink. DO NOT
induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs give further water to achieve effective
dilution. Seek medical attention.
Eye Irrigate with copious quantity of water for 15 minutes. Seek medical
assistance if symptoms persist.
Skin Wash affected areas with copious quantities of water. Seek medical advice if
effects persist.
Inhaled Remove victim to fresh air. Seek medical advice if effects persist.
First Aid Facilities Maintain eyewash fountain in work area.
Advice to Doctor
Advice to Doctor Treat symptomatically.
