FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS
When mixed with air and exposed to ignition source, sufficient flammable
dust may exist to burn in the open space or explode if confined. Use good
house-keeping practices to avoid rendering dust airborne. Flammable vapors
may also be present from over heating/melting/decomposition. Vapors may
cause fire/explosion if source of ignition is present. Employ grounding,
venting and explosion relief provisions in accordance with accepted
engineering proctices in process operations capable of generating dust
and/or static electricity.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Dry chemical
CO2
Water spray
Foam
Water fog

SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING PROCEDURES
Do not enter fire area without proper protection. See section on
decomposition products possible. Fight fire from safe distance/protected
location. Apply aqueous extinguishing media carefully to prevent
frothing/steam explosion. Use water spray/fog for cooling. Avoid contact
with molten product to prevent serious burns. Avoid raising powdered
materials into airborne dust, creating an explosion hazard. Notify
authorities if liquid enters sewer/public waters.

07. HEALTH HAZARDS
ROUTES OF EXPOSURE

INHALATION
Powder and aerosols; or vapors which may be generated at elevated processing
temperatures may cause respiratory tract irritation. Symptoms may include
coughing, mucous production and shortness of breath.

EYE CONTACT -- PRIMARY ROUTE
No significant signs or symptoms indicative of any adverse health hazard are
expected to occur as a result of eye exposure. However, particulates/dust
entering the eye can cause mechanical irritation. Eyes may become red, feel
scratchy and tearing may occur.

SKIN ABSORPTION
No significant signs or symptoms indicative of any adverse health effects
are expected to occur as a result of skin absorption.

SKIN IRRITATION -- PRIMARY ROUTE
This material is not expected to cause skin irritation based on available
test data.
This material is not expected to be a skin sensitizer.

INGESTION
No significant signs or symptoms indicative of any adverse health hazard are
expected to occur as a result of ingestion.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE
No additional medical information found.

08. PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT / CONTROL MEASURES
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
NIOSH/MSHA approved dust or mist respirator should be used if airborne
particulate is generated when handling this material.

EYE PROTECTION
Dust service goggles should be worn to prevent mechanical injury to eyes due
to airborne particles which may be associated with this product.
Contact lenses should not be worn.

SKIN PROTECTION
Not normally considered a skin hazard. Where use can result in skin contact,
practice good personal hygiene. Wash hands and other exposed areas with mild
soap and water before eating, drinking, smoking and when leaving work.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation to minimize exposure to
dust. If mechanical ventilation is used, electrical systems should conform to
National Electric Code.

OTHER HYGIENIC PRACTICES
Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the
immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

OTHER WORK PRACTICES
Use good personal hygiene practices. Wash hands before eating, drinking,
smoking, or using toilet facilities. Promptly remove soiled clothing/wash
thoroughly before reuse. Shower after work using plenty of soap and water.

09. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID
INHALATION
Remove victim to fresh air immediately. Obtain emergency medical attention
if breathing difficulty persists beyond 15 minutes.

EYE CONTACT
Not expected to present a significant eye hazard. However, in case of eye
contact, rinse with clean water for 15-20 minutes, retracting eyelids often.
Obtain medical attention if redness, tearing, irritation or other adverse
effects occur.

SKIN CONTACT
Remove contaminated clothing as needed. Wash skin thoroughly with mild
soap/water. Flush with lukewarm water for 15 minutes. If sticky, use waterless
cleaner first.

INGESTION
Not expected to present a significant ingestion hazard under anticipated
conditions of normal use. However, if ingested, obtain emergency medical
attention.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT PROCEDURES
Treat symptomatically.
If pain, blinking, tears, or redness continue, patient should contact
ophthalmologist.

10. SPILL AND DISPOSAL
PRECAUTIONS IF MATERIAL IS SPILLED OR RELEASED
Potential dust explosion hazard. May contaminate water supplies/be harmful
to aquatic organisms. May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic
environment. Extinguish all ignition sources. Avoid making dust. If
possible, recover the product; otherwise, collect. On land, sweep/
shovel into suitable disposal containers. Wash the materials used for
cleaning with water. On water, material is insoluble. Cointain and collect
as any solid. Report per regulatory requirements.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS
Comply with federal/state/local regulations for disposal.

11. ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
HANDLING AND STORAGE PROCEDURES
Use good housekeeping practices during storage, transfer, handling and use
to avoid excessive dust accumulation. Store in dry protected location to
prevent moisture contact. Avoid temperatures GT 60C/140F (the product melts).
Electrical equipment must be grounded and conform to National Electric
Code. Pneumatic conveyance or transfer of this powder must be accomplished
in a nitrogen or other inert gas atmosphere rather than air. Sampling
procedures, including transporting and handling, should avoid dust/vapor
inhalation and skin/eye contact and only be conducted with proper protective
equipment. All containers should be labelled to warn against exposure. The
product should be used in well ventilated area. In order to maintain the
performance of the product, protect from light and moisture.
