SECTION IV FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
Flash Point: >250 F (COC)

Extinguishing Media: Foam or water spray, CO2, dry chemical, water

Special Fire Fighting
Procedures: Do not enter fire area without proper protection. See section on
Decomposition Products Possible. Fight fire from safe
distance/protected location. Heat/impurities may increase
temperature/build pressure/rupture closed containers, spreading
fire, increasing risk of burns/injuries. Water may be ineffective in
firefighting due to low solubility. Use water spray/ fog for cooling.
Pressure relief system may plug with solids, increas9ing risk of
overpressure. Notify authorities if liquid enters sewer/public
waters.

Unusual Fire & Explosion
Hazards: High temperature/inhibitor depletion/accidental
impurities/exposure to radiation/oxidizers may cause
spontaneous polymerizing wreathing, generating heat/pressure.

Closed containers may rupture/explode during runaway
polymerization.

SECTION V HEALTH HAZARDS

Summary of Acute Hazards: Slight health hazards see below for route-specific details.

ROUTE OF EXPOSURE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS

Inhalation: No appropriate human or animal health effects data is known to
exist. This material is not expected to be an inhalation hazard
with adequate ventilation.

Eye Contact: May cause minor eye irritation. (Primary route)

Skin Contact: May produce skin irritation. (Primary route)

Ingestion: No significant signs or symptoms indicative of any adverse
health hazards are expected to occur as a result of ingestion.
Summary of Chronic
Hazards: No chronic health hazards have been found to be associated with this
material.

Special Health Effects: No additional medical information found.

SECTION VI REACTIVITY DATA

Stability: Stable
Condition to Avoid: Keep away from excessive heat, avoid long exposure above
90 F. Avoid freezing.
Incompatibility: Incompatible with strong oxidizers, radiation and other
initiators.
Hazardous Decomposition
Products: Small quantities of butadiene and methacrylates, along with
other lower molecular weight hydrocarbons.
Hazardous Polymerization: May occur

SECTION VII PROECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND OTHER
CONTROL MEASURES

Respiratory: No special respiratory protection equipment is recommended
under anticipated conditions of normal use with adequate
ventilation.

Eye: Eye protection such as chemical splash goggles and/or face
shield is recommended when possibility exists for eye contact
due to splashing or spraying liquid, airborne particles, or
vapor. Contact lenses should not be worn.

Skin: Depending on the conditions of use, gloves, apron, boots,
head and face protection is recommended. Equipment
should be cleaned thoroughly after each use.

Engineering Controls: No special ventilation is recommended under anticipated
conditions of normal use beyond general ventilation/
ventilation needed for normal comfort control. Local exhaust
ventilation is recommended if used at elevated temperatures
(100掳C and greater) and with aerosol formation.
Other Hygienic and
Work Practices: Use good personal hygiene practices. Wash hands before
eating, drinking, smoking, or using toilet facilities. Promptly
remove soiled clothing/wash thoroughly before reuse.
Shower after work using plenty of soap and water.
Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be
available in the immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

SECTION VIII OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS

No established standards

SECTION IX EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID

Inhalation: Not expected to present a significant inhalation hazard under
anticipated conditions of normal use.

Eye Contact: In case of eye contact, immediately rinse with clean water for
20-30 minutes. Retract eyelids often. Obtain emergency
medical attention if pain, blinking, tears or redness persists.

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing as needed. Wash skin
thoroughly with mild soap/water. Flush with lukewarm water
for 15 minutes. Wipe off resin with dry or oily rag. Baby oil
will remove stickiness, as will waterless cleaner.

Ingestion: Ingestion unlikely however, if ingested obtain medical
attention.

Emergency Medical
Treatment Procedures: After adequate first aid, no further treatment is required
unless symptoms reappear. Treat symptomatically.

SECTION X SPILL AND DISPOSAL
Precautions if Material is
Spilled or Released: Stop release. Prevent flow to sewers/public waters. Restrict
water use for cleanup. Slippery walking/spread granular
cover. Impound/recover large land spill. Soak up small spill
with inert solids. Use suitable disposal containers. On water,
material may float or sink, may biodegrade. Contain/minimize

dispersion/collect. Disperse residue to reduce aquatic harm.
Report per Reg. Requirements.

Waste Disposal Methods: Use registered transporters. May be incinerated for energy
recovery. Follow all local, state and Federal regulations when
disposing.

SECTION XI COMPONENTS

(This may not be a complete list of components.)
CAS # COMPOSITION AMT #
Methacrylate Grafted 168612-08-6 GT 99%
Polybutadiene:

Butylated Hydroxide Toluene: 128-37-0 LT .9%

SECTION XII ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
Handling, Storage & Decon-
tamination Procedures: Unless inhibited, product can polymerize, raising temperature
and pressure, possibly rupturing container. Check inhibitor
content often, adding to bulk liquid if needed. Do not blanket
or mix with oxygen-free gas, as it renders inhibitor ineffective.
Prevent freezing; inhibitor separates as it solidifies. If frozen,
material must be warmed and remixed gently (less than
90掳F). Prevent moisture contact. Store in tightly closed,
properly vented containers away from heat, sparks, open
flames, strong oxidizers, radiation, and other initiators.
Prevent contamination by foreign materials. Use only non-
sparking tools and limit storage time. Shelf-life is 6 months
from date of receipt.

Follow standard plant procedures or supervisor s instructions
for decontamination operations.

General Comments: Some of the information presented and conclusions drawn
herein are from sources other than direct test data on the
product itself. Do not use electrical drum heaters without
reliable upper temperature control. If heated too hot (above
300 F), a run away polymerization may occur. Steam drum
heaters are recommended.
