Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazard Data: Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Keep away from
heat, sparks, pilot lights & other flame and other sources of ignition. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel
along the ground or be moved by ventilation and ignited by heat, pilot lights, other flames and ignition sources at
locations distant from material handling point. Never use welding or cutting torch on or near drum (even empty)
because product (even just residue) can ignite explosively. Water fog may be used to cool containers. Air oxida-
tion of this product may cause it to spontaneously ignite. To avoid spontaneous combustion, place all soiled rags,
papers, wastes, etc. in a closed metal container and remove to out of doors or soak in water in closed metal
container.

Health Hazard Acute and Chronic:
Inhalation: Excessive inhalation of vapors can cause nasal and respiratory irritation, central nervous
system effects, including dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, headache, unconsciousness or in extreme
cases, death. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or
prove fatal.
Skin: Prolonged or repeated contact can cause moderate irritation, defatting, dermatitis. May be harmful
if absorbed through skin.
Eyes: Can cause irritation, redness, tearing, blurred vision.
Ingestion: Can cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, aspiration of material into
lungs can cause chemical pneumonitis, which can be fatal.
Chronic Overexposure: Excessive exposure may cause permanent brain and nervous system damage,
liver and kidney damage, cataracts and eye damage.

Emergency First Aid Procedures:
Inhalation: If affected, remove individual to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. If
breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration, keep person warm, get medical attention.
Skin: Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and water.
Eyes: Immediately wash or flush eyes thoroughly with large amounts of water, occasionally lifting upper
and lower lids. Get medical attention.
Ingestion: If ingested DO NOT induce vomiting, keep person warm, quiet, and get medical attention
immediately. Aspiration of material into lungs can cause chemical pneumonitis which can be fatal.

Small Spill: Wipe up with absorbent material. Transfer to closed container.
Large Spill: Eliminate all ignition sources (flames, pilot lights, sparks), contain liquid. Ventilate area and
avoid breathing vapors. Clean up with absorbent material and place in closed container for disposal.
Waste Disposal Method:
Small Spill: Incinerate (do not incinerate closed containers), or use secure landfill in accordance with
local, state and federal regulations.
Large Spill: Dispose of by sending to licensed reclaimer, or permitted incinerator, according to local,
state and federal regulations.

Precautions to be taken in handling and storing: Store in cool, dry area. Avoid flames and high temperatures.

8 Control Measures
Respiratory Protection: Appropriate respirator selected and used in accordance with OSHA Sub Part 1
(29CFR 1910.134) required when air borne contaminants are likely to exceed acceptable limits.
Ventilation: Provide sufficient mechanical (general and/or local exhaust) ventilation to maintain exposure below
TLVs or PELs. Recommend a minimum air exchange of 200 cu. ft. per minute for every 1,400 cu. ft. of room
space, sufficient to create air draft.
Protective Gloves: Neoprene rubber gloves (for spills or excessive contact).
Eye Protection: Where there is reasonable probability of eye contact, wear safety goggles.
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Wear appropriate equipment to prevent repeated and prolonged
skin contact.

Wash thoroughly after handling and before eating, drinking or smoking. Remove any contaminated clothing
