Extinguishing Media: Dry chemical foam, alcohol foam, CO2 for small fires, For large fires use alcohol foam.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Isolate Hazard area and deny entry. Stay upwind. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus in the
positive pressure mode and chemical protective clothing specifically recommended for methanol.
Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazards: Extremely dangerous fire and explosion hazard when exposed to heat and flame. Methanol and
Isopropanol are extremely flammable and will form explosive mixture with air. Vapors can travel a considerable distance to a source of
ignition and flash back.
SECTION 5 - REACTIVITY HAZARD DATA
STABILITY [X] STABLE [ ]UNSTABLE Hazardous Decomposition [ ] WILL [X] WILL NOT OCCUR
Conditions to Avoid: High heat and open flame.
Incompatibility (Mat. To avoid): Strong oxidizers, aluminum, zinc or metals that displace hydrogen, rubber, rubber baked coatings,
chromicanhydride, lead perchlorate and pershloris acids.
Hazardous Decomposition Products: Carbon monoxide and toxic vapors such as formaldehyde.
Conditions to Avoid: None
SECTION 6 - HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Threshold Limit Value and Sources: Supplier Limit 200ppm TWA and 250ppm STEL.
Acute Effects of Overexposure:
Ingestion: Headache, weakness, drowsiness, light headedness, nausea, vomiting, drunkenness and blurred vision. Ingestion of
large amounts result in death.
Eye Contact: Severe irritation to eyes.
Skin Contact: May cause defatting of the skin and cause dermatitis. Product can be absorbed through skin.
Inhalation: Irritation of the upper respiratory tract, drowsiness, light headedness, vomiting, blurred vision.
CHRONIC EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Kidney and liver damage. Vertigo, chills, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, blindness, edema.
Emergency and First Aid Procedures:
Swallowing: If the chemical is ingested and the person is conscious, induce vomiting immediately. Keep victims head below hips
while vomiting. Then give 2 teaspoons of baking soda in a glass of water. Do not induce vomiting if person is
unconscious. Seek medical attention immediately.
Skin: Promptly wash with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. If chemical is spilled on clothing immediately remove and
wash skin with soap and water if the chemical has penetrated the clothing. Throw away product soaked shoes.
Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If breathing is labored administer oxygen. If breathing has stopped start artificial
respiration immediately. Seek medical attention immediately.
Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of clear cool running water for 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart while
flushing to rinse entire surface of eye and lids with water. Seek medical attention immediately. Continue flushing with
water for additional 15 minutes if medical attention is not immediately available.
SECTION 7 鈥? SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
Environmental Impact: This material is not expected to present any environmental problems other than those associated with oil spills.
If spilled into a watercourse, call the Coast Guard Toll Free No. 800-424-8802.
Procedures To Be Taken If Material Is Released or Spilled: Shut off all sources of ignition. No smoking or flares allowed in spill area.
Restrict access to the spill area and move unprotected personnel upwind. Keep out of low areas. Allow only trained personnel wearing
Self Contained Breathing Apparatus and Level A or Level B chemical protective suits in the vicinity of the spill to facilitate cleanup. Do not
touch spilled material. Stop leaks if you can do so without risks. If fire potential exists, cover spill with foam. Prevent product from
entering water bodies, drains and any sewage collection system. Absorb spills with sand or other non-combustible absorbent material
and place into containers for later disposal. Control large spills by diking. If greater than 1,800 gallons of the product is spilled,
immediately report the spill to The National Response Center 800-424-8802 since the reportable quantity of 5000 lbs. of methanol will
have been releases into the environment.
Waste Disposal Method: Dispose of at an approved waste or disposal site facility in accordance with all applicable federal, state and
local laws and regulations. This product is considered to be an RCRA hazardous waste. Due to the flammability D001 and the presence
of Methanol CAS#67-56-1 F-003.

1910.134.
Ventilation: Provide local ventilation to maintain exposure levels.
Eye Protection: Use splash proof, chemical safety goggles. Contact lenses should not be worn when working with this
product.
Protective Clothing: Use natural rubber or neoprene gloves. Wear chemical protective suit and boots when handling
this product.
SECTION 9 鈥? SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Precautions To Be Taken In Handling and Storage: Store away from ignition sources, combustibles, oxidizing materials and acids.
Store in an area equipped with automatic sprinkler system or fire extinguishing system. Ground and bond storage containers and all
transfer lines to prevent possible ignition from static sparks.
Special Comments: Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, smoking and using toilet facilities.
Keep away from food and feed products
