� MSDS Applicants must be between the ages of 18-22 years

� MSDS Graduates up to the age of 26 years

� Currently in Grade 12 or successfully completed

� Have no record of criminal offence

� Preferable single

� Comply with medical fitness requirements for appointment in the

  SANDF

� Be prepared to undergo Basic Military Training, Functional

  Training and to serve in uniform

Additional requirements:

� Applicants with Grade 12 (MSDS Applicants) will be screened

  and if successful be selected for non-leader group training.

� Applicants with Graduate/Diploma (MSDS/GRAD08) are also

  welcome to apply, (up to the age of 26 will be considered).



TRAINING                                                                         My subjects, symbols and levels are as follows:

The SA Army’s mandate focuses on the provisioning of combat ready

forces and plays a leading role in landward operations. Training will be

decentralised at operational units were members will be appointed to

undergo a Basic Military Training, Corps training and deployment.

Combat musterings (SAA/COM/08) include the infantry, Engineers,

Armour, Artillery, Air Defence, Artillery and Intelligence. Most of the

members will be selected for the Infantry, which is the largest fighting

corps in the SA Army.

Technical musterings (SAA/SUP/08) include the Technical Service, Signal

and the Ammunition Corps. Learners must at least be in possession of

Grade 12 Mathematics.

Support musterings (SAA/TECH/08) include Personnel, Logistics,

Catering and Signals. Candidates offering Grade 12 Mathematics and

Physical Science will be preferred in certain musterings.
