FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS
When mixed with air and exposed to ignition source, sufficient flammable
dust may exist to burn in open or explode if confined. Use good house-
keeping practices to avoid rendering dust airborne. Flammable vapors may
also be present from over heating/melting/decomposition. Vapors may cause
fire/explosion if source of ignition is present.

SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING PROCEDURES
Do not enter fire area without proper protection. See section on decompo-
sition products possible. Fight fire from safe distance/protected location.
Apply aqueous extinguishing media carefully to prevent frothing/steam ex-
plosion. Use water spray/fog for cooling. Avoid contact with molten product
to prevent serious burns. Avoid raising powdered materials into airborne
dust, creating an explosion hazard. Notify authorities if liquid enters
sewer/public waters.

07. HEALTH HAZARDS
ROUTES OF EXPOSURE

INHALATION -- PRIMARY ROUTE
Overexposure may cause irritation to the respiratory tract and to other
mucous membranes.Symptoms may include burning of the eyes, nose and throat,
cough, mucous production or shortness of breath. Fumes from this product may
cause the following temporary symptoms: fever, chills, muscular pain, nausea
and vomiting (metal fume fever).

EYE CONTACT -- PRIMARY ROUTE
May cause severe eye irritation. Symptoms may include severe pain or
burning sensation, tearing, redness or swelling.
May cause destruction of eye tissue.

SKIN ABSORPTION
Extensive/prolonged or repeated exposure to this material may result in skin
absorption.

SKIN IRRITATION -- PRIMARY ROUTE
May cause slight skin irritation. Symptoms may include redness, dryness,
peeling or flaking of the skin.
Although no appropriate human or animal health effects data is known to
exist, this material may cause an allergic skin reaction (sensitization) in
susceptible individuals upon repeated exposure.

INGESTION -- PRIMARY ROUTE
This material may be a slight health hazard if ingested in large quantities.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE
No additional medical information found.

08. PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT / CONTROL MEASURES
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION
NIOSH/MSHA approved dust or mist respirator should be used if airborne
particulate is generated when handling this material.

Sartomer Company
Material Safety Data Sheet
Product: SARET SR633 Revised Date: 01-17-2005

EYE PROTECTION
Dust service goggles must be worn to prevent eye irritation or, possibly,
more serious damage to the eyes due to airborne particles which may result
from handling this product.

SKIN PROTECTION
Depending on the conditions of use, protective gloves, apron, boots, head
and face protection should be worn. This equipment should be cleaned
thoroughly after each use.

ENGINEERING CONTROLS
Provide local exhaust or general room ventilation to minimize exposure to
dust. If mechanical ventilation is used, electrical systems should conform to
National Electric Code.

OTHER HYGIENIC PRACTICES
Emergency eye wash fountains and safety showers should be available in the
immediate vicinity of any potential exposure.

OTHER WORK PRACTICES
Use good personal hygiene practices. Wash hands before eating, drinking,
smoking, or using toilet facilities. Promptly remove soiled clothing/wash
thoroughly before reuse. Shower after work using plenty of soap and water.

09. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID
INHALATION
If overcome by exposure, remove victim to fresh air immediately. Give oxygen
or artificial respiration as needed. Obtain emergency medical attention.
Prompt action is essential.

EYE CONTACT
For even minor eye contact, immediately rinse with clean water for 20-30
minutes. Retract eyelids often. Obtain emergency medical attention. Prompt
action is essential.

SKIN CONTACT
Remove contaminated clothing as needed. Wash skin thoroughly with mild
soap/water. Flush with lukewarm water for 15 minutes. If sticky, use waterless
cleaner first.

INGESTION
If large quantity swallowed, give lukewarm water (pint) if victim completely
conscious/alert. Do not induce vomiting/risk of damage to lungs exceeds
poisoning risk. Obtain emergency medical attention.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT PROCEDURES
Continue to rinse eye with clean water for 20-30 minutes, retracting eyelids
often. Contact ophthalmologist immediately.

10. SPILL AND DISPOSAL
PRECAUTIONS IF MATERIAL IS SPILLED OR RELEASED
Spilled or released material poses a dust explosion hazard if it becomes
airborne in the presence of an ignition source. Extinguish all ignition
sources. Use protective equipment during cleanup. On land, sweep/shovel into
suitable disposal containers or vacuum using equipment which avoids ignition
risk. On water, contain/minimize dispersion/collect. May contaminate water
supplies. Report per regulatory requirements.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS
Non-contaminated, properly inhibited product is not a RCRA hazardous waste.
However, contaminated product/soil/water may be a RCRA/OSHA hazardous waste
due to the potential for internal heat generation (see 40 CFR 261 and 29 CFR
1910). It is the responsibility of the generator to determine at the time of
disposal whether the product meets the criteria of a hazardous waste. Use
registered transporters. Waste management options include metals recovery or
landfilling solids at permitted sites. Assure emissions comply with
applicable regulations. Dilute aqueous waste may biodegrade; avoid
overloading/poisoning plant biomass. Assure effluent complies with applicable
regulations.

11. ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS
HANDLING AND STORAGE PROCEDURES
Store product indoors in a cool, dry place away from strong oxidizing and
reducing agents. Preferably, store in an air conditioned area where the
ambient temperature does not exceed 100F. Avoid storage temperatures above
100F for prolonged or extended periods of time. Keep containers tightly
closed until ready to use to avoid loss of activity. This product is an
anhydrous salt that will readily absorb moisture upon exposure to a humid
atmosphere. For optimum results, use within 6 months of receipt (shelf-life
is 6 months from date of receipt). This product is not expected to present
an explosion hazard during normal transportation and storage operations.
However, when dispersed in air and subject to sufficient energy of ignition,
it is a moderate dust explosion hazard. Minimize the potential for dust
explosion by eliminating/controlling ignition sources (bond and ground) and
using good housekeeping practices during storage, transfer, handling and use
to avoid excessive dust accumulation. Electrical equipment must be grounded
and conform to the National Electric Code. In instances where this material
is bulk conveyed, or where processing may result in a dusty atmosphere, refer
to the latest edition of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 654
publication, "Standard for the Prevention of Fire & Dust Explosions in the
Chemical, Dye, Pharmaceutical, and Plastics Industries" for complete
discussion of dust explosion prevention and control measures. Although NFPA
654 discusses inerting as a method of protection against dust explosion, an
inert gas atmosphere is not recommended during handling of this material
because the inhibitor in this product requires oxygen to be effective.

DECONTAMINATION PROCEDURES
Follow standard plant procedures or supervisor's instructions for
decontamination operations.
