3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
IMMEDIATE CONCERNS: Strong Oxidizer. Causes irreversible eye damage and skin burns. Harmful if swallowed. Irritating to
nose and throat. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
EYES: Corrosive to the eyes and may cause severe damage including blindness.
SKIN: Causes irritation and burns.
INGESTION: Ingestion is not expected as a primary route of exposure.
INHALATION: May be destructive to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract. Symptoms may include burning sensation,
coughing, wheezing, laryngitis, shortness of breath, headache, nausea and vomiting. May cause pulmonary edema up to 48
hours after inhalation.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
EYES: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention.
SKIN: Immediately flush skin with large amounts of water. Remove contaminated clothing and place into closed container. Get
medical attention immediately. If clothing is to be laundered, inform the person performing the function of the contaminant's
properties. Discard contaminated leather goods.
INGESTION: Call poison control senter immediatly for treatment advice. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by poison
control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconcious person.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get immediate
medical attention.
NOTES TO PHYSICIAN: Probable mucosal damage may contraindicate the use of gastric lavage.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: In case of fire or smoke, call the fire department. Do not attempt to extinguish fire without a self
contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Do not let the fire burn. Flood with copious amounts of water. DO NOT use ABC or other
dry chemical extinguishers as violent reaction may occur.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Fires fueled by other materials may release hydrogen bromide, bromine, hydrogen

chloride, or chlorine.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
GENERAL PROCEDURES: Use appropriate PPE. Do not add water to spilled material. Using clean equipment sweep or scoop up
spilled material and place into clean dry containers for disposal. Do not use floor cleaning compounds to clean up spills. Do not
close containers containing damp or wet material as they should be left open to vent any gas that may be formed. Keep product
out of sewers or waterways. Dispose of according to local, state, and federal regulations.
7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
GENERAL PROCEDURES: Keep in a tightly closed container, stored in a cool, dry, well ventilated, location. Protect from direct
sunlight.
HANDLING: Wash hands after handling containers or feed equipment.
