colour as a white or coloured powder to be thoroughly mixed with
a specified relatively low amount of drinkable water on the project
site immediately prior to application as a liquid paint.

Use: Polymer modified, inorganic X55 HI-SEAL paint is used as a long-
life, medium build interior/exterior protective and decorative
surface coating. It is typically applied with tools/equipment used
for normal painting work such as brushes, brooms, rollers as well
as with suitable spray application equipment.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Personal Protections: Wear suitable protective clothing, such as full overalls, gloves (AS
2161), and eye protection (AS/NZS 1337). When exposed to dust,
the user should also wear a suitable respirator (AS/NZS 1715 and
1716). Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Wash work clothes
regularly and separately from other clothes.
TLV (Threshold Limit Value): 2 mg/m鲁 for inspirable dust.
X55 HI-SEAL, particularly in prepared (unhardened) liquid
condition can dry the skin and cause alkali burns. Continued
exposure of individuals who are allergic to chromium and to this
alkaline material may give cause to allergic dermatitis.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE (Continued):
Ventilation: Avoid the creation of dust. Where practical, suitable means of
dust collection/suppression should be adopted as necessary to
maintain acceptable air borne dust levels. Persons with a history or
respiratory illness or reduced pulmonary function should avoid
work places and materials with high dust levels.
Flammability: The product is non-combustible.
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Handling and Storage: X55 HI-SEAL paint powder should be stored in containers that
prevent ingress of moisture as this will cause it to set and harden in
storage. The container in which it is supplied is the best form of
storage. Otherwise store in suitable size containers so that each is
full with no air space and have tight fitting lids.
Spills and Disposals: Spills may be cleaned up by any suitable dry method to minimise
the creation of dust with personal protection equipment being used
by clean-up personnel. Collect in containers for disposal as trade
waste in accordance with the particular applicable local authority's
laws and guidelines.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Appearance: X55 HI-SEAL is a fine white or coloured powder. It is
manufactured and supplied in airtight containers and is made
available in virtually any colour on firm advance order from
Ability.
Boiling/Melting Point (潞C): Some components of the material begin to melt at high
temperatures (> 300潞C).
Vapour Pressure: Not applicable.
Specific Gravity: 1.6 - 1.7 approximately.
Flash point: Not applicable.
Flammability Limits: Not applicable.
Other Properties: It is not explosive. It has no chemical solvents, virtually no VOC's
(Volatile Organic Compounds and has virtually no odour except
for a faint sweet smell. X55 HI-SEAL powder is partially soluble
in water and as it is hydraulic, it sets and hardens after mixing it
with water.

Health Effects:
Swallowed: Mild corrosive action.
Eye: Short-term exposure: irritating. Long-term exposure: irritating
may cause inflammation of the cornea.
Skin: Short-term exposure: irritating. Long-term exposure: X55 HI-
SEAL paint powder is slightly caustic and can dry the skin. There
are also trace amounts of water-soluble hexavalent chromium
present in the cement (0-20 ppm) component and for some
individuals may cause allergic dermatitis.
Inhaled: Irritating. Long-term exposure may cause inflammation of lining
of the respiratory system.
First Aid:
Swallowed: Wash mouth and lips with water. Do not induce vomiting, give
water containing sugar or milk to drink. Seek medical attention.
Skin: Wash with tepid soapy water. The taking of a bath or shower may
be required.
Eyes: Irrigate with copious clean tap water for at least 15 minutes. Seek
medical attention.
Inhaled: Move to fresh air, wash with water and if effects persist seek
medical attention.
Exposure Limits: X55 HI-SEAL paint powder is classified as a nuisance dust.
Advice to Physician: Contact a poisons information centre and treat as for Portland
cement used for making concrete.
