4. FIRST AID
Ingestion : If swallowed and patient is conscious, wash out mouth
thoroughly with water. DO NOT induce vomiting.
DO NOT give anything by mouth to unconscious patient.
Seek immediate medical attention.
Eye : Immediately flush with fresh water for at least 15 minutes.
Ensure adequate flushing by separating eyelids with fingers.
Seek immediate medical attention.
Skin : Wash thoroughly with soapy water. Remove contaminated
clothing and footwear and wash before reuse or storage.
Seek medical attention if irritation or discomfort occurs.
Inhalation : Move immediately to fresh air and if necessary apply artificial
respiration. If breathing difficulty give oxygen.
Seek medical advice.
First Aid Facilities : Eyewash and safety shower should be available in workplace.
Advice to Doctor : Treat symptomatically.

5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Fire/explosion hazard: Product itself is not flammable but oxidizing action may
assist surrounding combustion.
Fire Fighting advice : Ensure use of SCBA units and full protective equipment to
avoid contact with dust or fumes.
Extinguishing Media : Water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide or appropriate
foam according to surrounding fire.
Decomposition Products: Combustion products may include dust, oxides of nitrogen
and sodium oxide vapours.
6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Spills and disposal : Ensure protective overalls, gloves and safety goggles are worn
by cleanup personnel. Approved respirators if needed.
Contain spillage and avoid entry into drains and waterways.
Carefully sweep spillage together to allow collection.
Avoid raising dust.
Collect spillage into appropriately labeled containers for
storage awaiting reuse or disposal via the local waste facility as
per required legislation.

8.EXPOSURE CONTROLS AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Exposure Standards : No specific airborne exposure standard set for this product
but we recommend a TLV = 10 mg/m3 as for a nuisance dust.
Engineering Controls: Ensure effective ventilation (exhaust and/or natural) at the
workplace is adequate to avoid dust in the immediate vicinity.
Avoid light metal and its alloys/galvanized material.
Personal Protection : Wear full overalls, gloves and safety goggles when handling
the product. Avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhalation.
If dust potential then use of respirator (as per AS1716) is
recommended.
Always wash hands before eating, drinking, smoking or using
the toilet.
Wash any contaminated clothing or protective equipment

11. Toxicological Information
No adverse health effects are expected if the product is handled in accordance with
this Safety Data Sheet and the product label.
Symptoms that may arise if the product is mishandled are 鈥?
Acute Effects:
Ingestion : C; R25 Corrosive material and toxic if swallowed.
May cause burns to mouth and burns to gastro intestinal tract. Severe
abdominal pain and vomiting may also occur.
High levels may effect blood capability to carry oxygen resulting in
headache, fatigue, dizziness and blue colouration of lips and skin.
May cause breathing difficulties, collapse and even death.
Eye : Corrosive and likely to cause severe pain and burns to the cornea
possibly resulting in blindness.
Skin : Corrosive and may cause burns to the skin, with prolonged or
repeated contact resulting in dermatitis.
Inhalation : If dust inhaled, may cause irritation to the throat and respiratory tract
resulting in coughing and shortness of breath.
Also refer to toxic effects as per ingestion due to skin absorption.
Chronic Effects: No specific information.
