USE:
Stabiliser, particulate dispersing agent 鈥? especially for ultrafine particle pigments, minerals
etc., viscosity reducer, plasticiser and emulsifying agent for aqueous formulae in the ink,
paint, concrete, chemical and allied industries. Emulsifying/dispersing agent and auxiliary for
the manufacture and processing of rubber latex and secondary emulsifier for the
polymerisation of synthetic rubber aqueous dispersions.

ACUTE EFFECTS:
Eyes: Contact with eyes may cause irritation.
Skin: Short to mid term contact with skin is not likely to cause irritation.
Inhaled: May cause irritation of respiratory tract.
Swallowed: Considered slightly toxic if ingested. May cause irritation of
gastrointestinal tract.
CHRONIC EFFECTS:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may cause sensitisation.
FIRST AID:
Eyes: Rinse affected eyes thoroughly within one minute under running tap
water for 15 minutes with eyelids held open. Seek specialist advice
if irritation occurs.
Skin: Wash affected skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Inhaled: Remove to fresh air.
Swallowed: Give a conscious patient several glasses of water, then induce
vomiting by tickling back of throat with finger. Seek medical
attention quickly. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person.
Other First Aid: Remove contaminated clothing and footwear.
Advice to Doctors: Treat Symptomatically.
Toxicity Data: Acute oral toxicity: LD50 approx. 4500 mg/kg (rat).
Acute dermal irritation: no irritation (rabbit).
Acute eye irritation: moderate irritation (rabbit鈥檚 eye).
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Exposure Standards: Although no TLV has been assigned for this product we recommend
the following for nuisance dusts;
TLV (Particulates Not Otherwise Classified) : 10 mg/m鲁 nuisance
dust.
Engineering Controls: Ensure workplace is well ventilated. Local exhaust ventilation
recommended.
Personal Protection: The following personal protective equipment is recommended;
Chemical splash goggles, rubber or plastic gloves, dust mask/
NIOSH and/or MSHA approved respirator if necessary.
Flammability: Slightly flammable.
Environment: If introduced in concentrations up to 200 mg/1, this chemical
substance should not affect the decomposing activity of the
activated sludge in an operating biological water treatment plant.
Degradability: 20 鈥? 60% (OECD-Confirmatory-Test, TOC)
Fish toxicity (of a chemically similar product) : LC50 100 鈥? 500
mg/1 (Golden orfe, 96h).
Other Precautions: Avoid dust formation. Wear an approved respirator when handling
large amounts of product without a dust extraction plant. The
precautionary measures normally applied when handling chemicals
are to be observed.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport: This product is not classified as a dangerous good under the
provisions of the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous
Goods by Road and Rail. Protect from moisture. Avoid dust
formation. Not regulated for transportation in U.S.A. and most
other countries.
Packaging & Labeling: No special requirements.
Spills and Disposal: Sweep up together with dust binding agent such as dry sand or
sawdust or use a vacuum cleaner. Small amounts may be disposed
together with industrial waste in accordance with local regulations.
Large amounts may be incinerated at an approved industrial
incinerator in accordance with applicable Federal, State and Local
regulations. Wear adequate personal protective clothing and
equipment.
Reactivity Data: No incompatible substances, hazardous decomposition products or
hazardous reactions have been observed with this product, provided
it is stored and handled correctly.
Fire/Explosion Hazard: Fire extinguishing method: Water spray / CO2 / Foam / Dry
extinguishing Agent.
Special Protection Measures:
Cool exposed containers with water spray. Use self contained
breathing apparatus in confined areas.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards:
None.
Other Safe Handling: Wash Hands before work breaks and at the end of the working day.
