USE:
To entrain microscopic stable air voids in concrete using exceptionally low dose rates
(typically 0.003 per cent of cementitious material weight).
Other uses: As toothpaste, detergent, shampoo and toiletry ingredients. Foaming
emulsifying and dispersing agent.

HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Health Effects:
Acute:
Swallowed: This material is irritant by virtue of its being moderately
alkaline as well as having a detergent action.
Low toxicity; acute oral LD50s鈥檚 in rats of 1200 to 2400
mg/kg. have been reported for equivalent products on an
active matter basis.
Eyes: Dust is irritant to eyes.
Skin: Dust and powder are irritant on prolonged contact.
Inhaled: Dust is very irritating to nose, throat and lungs.
Chronic: Repeated, prolonged contact may produce dermatitis
First Aid
Swallowed: Immediately give plenty of water or milk and seek medical
attention. Do not induce vomiting.
Eyes: Immediately hold eyes open and flush thoroughly with water
for at least 15 minutes. Seek immediate medical assistance: If
not immediately available, continue flushing.
Skin: Wash contact areas with plenty of soap and water. Remove
contaminated clothing and wash before re-use. If irritation
occurs seek medical advice.
Inhaled: Remove from further exposure. Seek medical advice if effects
persists.
Advise to Doctor: Treat symptomatically.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE:
Exposure Limits: None assigned by Worksafe Australia but a dust Exposure
Standard of 1 mg/m鲁 (8 hr. - TWA) is recommended to avoid
irritation.
Engineering Controls: Use is a well ventilated area and minimise dust generation.
Local exhaust ventilation at dust source is recommended.
Personal Protection: Wear chemical-type goggles. To avoid skin contact wear
protective overalls and PVC or rubber gloves. Observe good
personal hygiene. Use dust respirator in dusty environments.
Flammabilty: Not Flammable. Does not support combustion.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport: Not classified at Dangerous Goods for storage and transport.
Store under cover in a dry place away from foodstuffs and
empty foodstuff receptacles, oxidising agents (such as
chlorates, nitrates, peroxides).
Bags should be protected from damage and mild steel drums
should not be used for prolonged storage of solutions of these
products.
Stocks should be used in rotation.
Close containers securely after use to prevent moisture
absorption and consequent caking.
Spills and Disposal: Wear protective clothing and a dust mask. Collect spilt
powder directly into plastic or steel containers. Absorb
solutions on sand or earth and collect similarly. Wash residual
spillage to drain with plenty of water, taking care to avoid
excessive foam formation. Dispose of waste at a licenced site.
Other Precautions: Avoid dust formation. Wear an approved respirator when
handling large amounts of this product without a dust
extraction plant. The precautionary measures normally
applied when handling chemicals are to be observed.
Like sodium lauryl sulphate 鈥楳axim-Air庐鈥? is not flammable
Fire/Explosion Hazard:
but in a large fire it may produce toxic fumes containing
sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide. Self contained
breathing apparatus should be worn in fighting fire where
these materials are involved.
Other information: The product is a biodegradable surfactant in accordance with
Australian Standard AS 1792-1976.
