3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

Most important hazards: No hazards deemed to be of major importance

Specific hazards: Very toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic
environment.
Picolinafen formulation contains clay, which may contain more than 0.1% crystalline silica.




4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Call a physician.
Skin contact: Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Take off contaminated
clothing and shoes immediately. Call a physician.
Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
Consult a physician.
Ingestion: Call a physician or Poison Control Centre immediately. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Do not
induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray, foam, dry chemical, carbon dioxide (CO2).

Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons: high volume water jet (contamination
risk)

Special protective equipment for firefighters: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing
apparatus.

Specific methods: (on small fires) If area is heavily exposed to fire and if conditions permit, let
fire burn itself out since water may increase the area contaminated. Cool containers / tanks with spray
water.

Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Methods for cleaning up: Clean up promptly by scoop or vacuum. If spill area is on ground near valuable

crystalline silica. Overexposure to airborne quartz can cause silicosis., a lung disease characterized
by coughing, difficult breathing, wheezing, scarring of the lung, and repeated non-specific chest
illnesses.
