SECTION 2 HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
DANGER! Bleach tablets are strong oxidizers. Possible fire hazard in contact with flammable or combustible
material. Bleach tablets are corrosive and may cause burns to the eyes, skin, mouth and gastrointestinal tract.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS:
PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY: Skin and eye contact.
ACUTE EFFECTS:
INGESTION: Bleach Tablets are corrosive and will cause immediate and severe burns of the mucous membranes of
the mouth and gastrointestinal tract..
EYES: Bleach Tablets are corrosive. Direct contact will cause severe irritation, pain, burns and possible permanent
eye damage.
SKIN: Bleach Tablets are corrosive. Direct contact with wet tablet or moist skin may cause severe irritation and
possible burns.
INHALATION: Inhalation is not a normal route of exposure for this product. If dust from Bleach Tablets is inhaled,
severe irritation of the nose, mouth and upper respiratory tract would be expected. May aggravate existing
respiratory conditions such as asthma.
CHRONIC EFFECTS: None currently known.

Ingestion (Swallowed): Rinse out mouth and give sips of water. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get immediate

Eye Contact: Flush with water. Remove contact lenses if present and flush again with water for at least 15 minutes.
Get immediate medical attention.
Skin Contact: Flush with water. Remove any contaminated clothing and launder before reuse. If irritation develops
and persists, get medical attention.
Inhalation (Breathing): If dust from product is inhaled, move to fresh air. Get medical attention if irritation
develops and persists.
SECTION 5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Flood with water. Do not use dry chemicals, carbon dioxide or halogenated
extinguishing agents.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Firefighters should always wear positive pressure self-contained
breathing apparatus and full protective clothing for fires involving chemicals.
UNUSUAL FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Heating Bleach Tablets above 464掳F will generate noxious gases. To
minimize the generation of these gases, flood with a large quantity of water. Bleach Tablets are strong oxidizers and
may react with flammable or combustible materials to cause a fire or explosion.
SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
SPILL RESPONSE: Bleach Tablets spilled from a single retail package should be carefully collected and flushed
down the drain with plenty of water. Do not generate airborne dust. If a damp cloth or paper towel is used to collect
material, rinse it thoroughly with a large amount of water before reuse or disposal. Concentrated bleach may cause a
fire in contact with paper, rags or other combustible material.
SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING: Avoid contact with product. Avoid breathing dust from product. Wash thoroughly after use. Keep out
of the reach of children. Keep Bleach Tablets away from flammable and combustible materials.
STORAGE: Store in a cool, dry area. Avoid heat and direct sunlight.

Personal Protection:
Eye Protection: None normally required. Avoid eye contact.
Skin Protection: Avoid prolonged skin contact. For sensitive skin wear rubber gloves.
Respiratory Protection: None required.
For Bulk Processing or Workplace Use the Following Controls are Recommended
Engineering Controls: Use with adequate general ventilation or local exhaust to minimize exposure levels.
Personal Protection:
Eye Protection: Chemical safety goggles recommended.
Skin Protection: Wear rubber gloves and protective clothing as required to avoid skin contact.
Respiratory Protection: None required for handling finished product. If exposure levels are excessive, wear an
approved respirator. Selection of respiratory protection depends on the contaminant type, form and concentration.
Select in accordance with applicable regulations and good Industrial Hygiene practice.
Work/Hygiene Practices: Avoid contact with the eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling.
