Section VI: Health Hazard Data
Effects of overexposure
Eyes Acute: May cause irritation and redness.
Chronic: None Known
Skin N/A
Inhalation Acute: Simple asphyxiation from nitrogen is the greatest hazard. Exposure to high
Concentrations of NO may cause methemoglobinemia and delayed lung damage
Chronic: Lung damage from NO. Reproductive effects have also been reported.
Ingestion N/A (product is a gas)
Emergency First Aid Procedures
Eyes Flush with copious amounts of water at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention

being knocked over. Store away from heavily trafficked areas and emergency exits or
stairwells.
Do not drag, slide, or roll cylinders - use a suitable hand truck for movement.
Never carry a compressed gas cylinder in an enclosed area such as a car trunk, van or station
wagon.
A leak can result in asphyxiation, or support combustion/explosion. For additional
recommendations, consult Compressed Gas Association Pamphlets P-1, P-7, P-14, SB-2
