Health Hazards :
Inhalation : May be harmful if inhaled in sufficient quantities . Prolonged or repeated overexposure by inhalat ion may cause
lung or respiratory damage. Repeated and prolonged exposure to respirable crystalline silica which may be c stained in
Talc and Pumice may cause delayed chronic lung injury (silicosis) . Silicosis is a form of progressive, disabling pulmonary
fibrosis.
Note that IARC in Vol . 42 () 987) of its Monograph on the Evaluation of the Carcinogenic Risk of Chemical: :o Humans
reports that these is limited evidence for the carcinogenity of crystalline silica to humans, IARC class 2A .
