VI. HEALTH HAZARD DATA:
Effects of acute overexposure for : Isopropyl Alcohol
Eyes : Can cause severe irritation, redness, tearing, blurred vision
Skin : Prolonged or repeated contact can cause moderate irritation, defatting, dermatitis .
Breathing Excessive inhalation of vapors can cause nasal and respiratory irritation, headache, possible
unconsciousness, and even death.
Swallowing. Can cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea .
Effects of chronic overexposure : Isopropyl Alcohol has been found to cause damage to the liver, kidneys and
brains of laboratory animals.
Emergency and First Aid Procedures ;
If in eyes : Flush with large amounts of water . Cautiously attempt to lift upper and lower lids occasionally; get
medical attention immediately.
If on skin: Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and water .
If breathed Remove to flesh air ; administer oxygen . Consult physician immediately.
If swallowed : Immediately drink two glasses of water and induce vomiting . Get medical attention immediately .

Spills: Eliminate all sources of ignition . Small spills should be flushed with large quantities of water . Larger
spills should be collected for disposal .
