Introduction EPON鈩? Resin 161 is a multifunctional epoxidized phenolic novolac resin that combines
relatively low viscosity with good thermal stability and chemical resistance. The viscosity
of EPON Resin 161 can be substantially reduced by blending it with EPIKOTE鈩? Resin 862,
a Bisphenol F epoxy resin, with a minimal sacrifice of physical properties and chemical and
solvent resistance. The effects on physical properties and chemical and solvent resistance
for several blends of EPON Resin 161 and EPIKOTE Resin 862 are illustrated below. Use in the
intended application should be carefully evaluated.
