6. TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES.

Skin contact: Irritation. Can cause defatting of the skin, which may lead to dermatitis.
Skin absorption: Ethylene glycol propyl ether can be absorbed by the skin and is moderately toxic.
Eye contact: May cause severe eye irritation, experienced as discomfort, excess redness and
swelling of the conjunctiva 鈥? possible corneal damage.
Inhalation: Vapours may cause irritation of the respiratory tract as experienced by nasal
discomfort and discharge, chest discomfort, cough and difficulty with breathing.
Extended or repeated exposure above the recommended concentrations may cause
nervous depression.
Ingestion: May cause mouth, throat, oesophagus and stomach irritation, nausea, vomiting,
and diarrhoea. Sign of intoxication mat also result from ingestion.

7. PREVENTIVE MEASURES.

Personal protective equipment -

Impervious, such as Nitrile or Neoprene鈩?
Gloves
Respirator: If exposure exceeds recommended values wear a NIOSH approved canister respirator for
organic vapours, or self-contained breathing equipment.
Eye: Chemical safety goggles.
Footwear: Safety work boots.
Wear impervious clothing such as Nitrile or Neoprene鈩?.
Clothing:
Other: Eye wash station and safety shower.

Engineering controls: Flammable material 鈥? bonding/groundingmust be used when pouring this product.
All equipment, such as bung wrenches, must be spark proof. All electrical
equipment must be spark proof. Adequate ventilation should be employed where
this product is used.

Leak and spill procedures: Eliminate all sources of ignition. In the event of a large spill evacuate all non-
essential personnel. Clean staff should wear appropriate personal protective
equipment. Dike spill with absorbent material to prevent entry into sewers and
waterways. Use only spark proof equipment to clean up spill. Place all
absorbent materials in a proper disposal drum.

Waste disposal: Dispose of in accordance to all government regulations hazardous material.

Handling procedures and equipment Flammable material avoid all sources of ignition such as open
flames, sparks, and red-hot surfaces. No smoking. All equipment
used with this equipment must be spark proof. All electrical
equipment must be spark proof. Close containers tightly when
not in use.
Storage requirements: Store in a cool dry, well ventilated area, away from incompatible
material. Do not store I direct sunlight. Do not store near open
flamed or other sources of ignition.

8. FIRST AID MEASURES.

Eye contact: Flush with copious amounts of running water for at least 15 minutes while holding eye
lids well apart. Get medical attention.
Skin contact: For large contact clothes should be removed under a safety shower. For a small
contact thoroughly wet any clothing to prevent static discharge while removing. Wash
skin area of contact with soap and water. Seek medical attention if any irritation
persists.
Inhalation: Remove victim to air. If breathing has stopped apply artificial respiration. Get medical
attention.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Get immediate medical attention.
