3. Hazards Identification
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
The product, when properly handled according to good working and hygienic practices is not dangerous for human
health and the environment.
Harmful effects may occur when, as a result of heating, thermal decomposition produces toxic and corrosive gases.
For short and long term exposure effects see Section 11 Toxicological data.

Eye Effects: Prolonged contact with eyes has no expected effect. Severe irritation may be caused by
decomposition products.
Skin Effects: Prolonged contact with skin has no expected effect. Severe irritation may be caused by
decomposition products.
Ingestion/Oral Ingestion in large amounts may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomit and diarrhoea.
Effects:
Inhalation Effects: Low volatility makes inhalation unlikely. Severe irritation may be caused by decomposition
products.

4. First Aid Measures
Wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.
Eyes:
Wash with soap and water.
Skin:
Give water to drink. Induce vomiting. Seek medical advice in case of persistent pain.
Ingestion/Oral:
Move to fresh air in cases of accidental inhalation of vapours from decomposition products. If
Inhalation:
breathing problems occur, a qualified individual should administer oxygen or artificial
respiration as indicated. Seek immediate medical attention.
None.
Other Information:

5. Fire Fighting Measures
Extinguishing Media: Water, powders, foams, chemicals and CO2
Fire and Explosion Hazard: Material is not flammable. Risk of thermal decomposition with emission of highly
toxic and corrosive gases (HF & COF2). Stay up-wind and at safe distance from
fire. Spray containers with water to keep cool. Where possible remove containers
to a safe location.
Special Protective Equipment Fire fighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) which meets
for Fire Fighters: appropriate standards operated in positive pressure mode. Wear protective
clothing for skin and eyes against corrosive vapours.
For Flammability Properties - see Section 9

6. Accidental Release Measures
Risk relates to decomposition of released material. In the event of a spillage :
鈥? Prevent the released product from contacting ignition sources and hot surfaces.
鈥? Contain spillage with earth, sand or sawdust.
鈥? Prevent liquid from entering sewers, surface water, underground water and soil.
鈥? Collect spillage in a suitable container for disposal.
鈥? Wash contaminated area to prevent slip hazard.
