its concentration is below allowed limits.

SECTION 4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. Give large quantities of water. Consult a physician or poison control center
immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Skin Care: Wipe off excess material from skin then immediately flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at least 15

SECTION 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing Media: water spray, dry chemical, foam or carbon dioxide. No restriction.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: In case of fire, wear a full protective clothing and NIOSH-approved self-contained
respirator with full-face piece operated in the pressure demand or other positive.
Unusual Fire Fighting Procedures: Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Contact with strong oxidizing or reducing
agents may create an exothermic reaction. Although sodium azide reacts with both copper and lead to produce
explosive azides, at this concentration there is no serious danger.
Thermal Decomposition: Dangerous decomposition is not anticipated.

SECTION 6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Steps To Be Taken After Spillage: Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (rubber gloves and protective
clothing) Absorb with an inert material (vermiculite, dry sand, earth) and place in a chemical waste container. Wash
contaminated area with dilute bleach or soap. . If sample diluent has already diluted serum specimens, disinfect
carefully.

Absorbant Material: Do not use combustible materials, as sawdust.

Waste Disposal Method: Consult a specialist for disposal of the spilled substance.

SECTION 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling: Keep in its original container, tightly closed. Protect from physical damage. Open and handle container
carefully. Wear rubber gloves and protective clothing. Do not swallow. Avoid a prolonged and excessive contact with
skin.
Storage: Store between +2掳C (35,6掳F) and +8掳C (46,4掳F).
Other Precautions: Do not store near heat or ignition sources.

SECTION 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Product TLV: Not known.
Sodium azide TLV (pure substance): 0.29 mg/m3 (Ceiling)
Respiratory Protection: None
Eye Protection: Maintain eye wash fountain and quick-drench facilities in work area.
Hand Protection: One-way rubber gloves. Wash hands before breaks and at end of the work.
Other Protective Equipment: Protective Clothing
