Section 3: Health Hazard Data
Health Risks and Symptoms of Exposure:
Inhalation: High concentrations may lead to central nervous system effects (drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, headaches,
paralysis and loss of consciousness and even death). Irritating to the nose, throat and respiratory tract. Solvent 鈥渉uffing/sniffing鈥?
(abuse) or intentional prolonged overexposure to high levels of vapors can produce abnormal behavior, convulsions,
hallucinations, delirium, nervous system damage, serious disturbances of heart rhythm and sudden death. Repeated exposure
has caused slight anemia in laboratory animals.
Eyes: Mildly irritating to the eyes.
Skin: Substance can be absorbed through skin in harmful amounts. May cause skin irritation. Prolonged or repeated contact can
result in defatting and drying of the skin which may result in skin irritation and dermatitis(rash).
Ingestion: Moderately toxic. Product may be harmful or fatal if swallowed. Material is a pulmonary aspiration hazard.
Material can enter lungs and cause damage. Ingestion of this product may cause central nervous system effects, which may
include dizziness, loss of balance and coordination, unconsciousness, coma and even death. Irritating to mouth, throat and stomach.
Health Hazards (acute and chronic):
Carcinogenicity: No
NTP Carcinogen: No IARC Monographs: No OSHA Regulated: No
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure:
Emergency and First Procedures:
Eyes: Flush at once with potable water for at least 15 minutes.Get medical attention
Skin: Wash with soap and warm water. Remove contaminated clothes. Wash before reuse.
Ingestion: Do NOT induce vomiting. Do NOT give liquids. Get medical attention immediately.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure:
Overexposure to xylene may cause female and male reproductive disorders, based on tests with laboratory animals.

Health 鈥? 2 Flammability 鈥? 2 Reactivity 鈥? 0
HMIS Rating:
Avoid breathing vapor mist or spray
Respiratory Protection:
Use with good ventilation
Ventilation:
Wear impervious gloves
Protective Gloves:
Wear chemical splash goggles and face shield
Eye Protection:
Provide eye fountain and safety shower.
Other Protective Clothing/Equipment:
Practice good industrial hygiene. Wash with soap and water
Work/Hygienic Practices:
before eating, smoking or using the restroom.

Section 5: Precautions for Safe Handling and Use
Accidental Release Measures: Prevent ignition, stop leak and ventilate the area. Keep personnel upwind from leak. Use appropriate personal
protective equipment as stated in section 4 of this MSDS. Absorb spill with inert material (dry sand or earth), then place in a chemical waste
container. Do NOT flush to sewers. This materials is a water pollutant and should be prevented from contaminating soil or from entering sewage
and drainage systems and bodies of water.
Handling: Use only in well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing (dust, vapor, mist, gas). Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly
after handling. Ground and bond containers when transferring material. Use spark-proof tools and explosion proof equipment. 鈥淓mpty鈥? containers
retain product residue (liquid and/or vapor) and can be dangerous. DO NOT PRESSURIZE, CUT, WELD, BRAZE, SOLDER, DRILL, GRIND OR
EXPOSE SUCH CONTAINERS TO HEAT, FLAME, SPARKS, STATIC ELECTRICITY, OR OTHER SOURCES OF IGNITION. THEY MAY
EXPLODE AND CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. Empty drums should be completely drained, properly bunged, and promptly returned to a drum
reconditioned, or properly disposed of.
Storage: Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Store in cool dry place. Keep container closed when not in use.
