IV FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
庐
Sure Klean Weather Seal Siloxane WB Concentrate is a clear amber liquid with a vinegar-like odor. As concentrate, it is a flammable
liquid. At application dilutions, the final product is classed a combustible. Keep away from heat, sparks, flames, or other sources of
ignition. May cause severe eye and skin irritation.
FLASH POINT (METHOD): Concentrate: 69飩癋 (ASTM D 3278)
Dilutions (ASTM D 3278): 1:5 = 131飩癋 1:9 = 140飩癋 1:14 = 145飩癋
FLAMMABLE LIMITS: Not determined.
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Dry chemicals, carbon dioxide, or foam type extinguishing media.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES: Do not enter confined fire space without proper protective equipment, including a
NIOSH/MSHA approved full-face self-contained breathing apparatus. Cool fire exposed containers, surrounding equipment
and structures with water.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Vapors are heavier than air and may accumulate in low areas or areas inadequately
ventilated. Vapors may also travel along the ground to be ignited at location distant from handling site; flash back of flame to
handling site may occur.
Never use welding or cutting torch on or near drum (even empty) because product (even just residue) can ignite explosively.
FLAMMABLE!!! Keep container tightly closed. Isolate from oxidizers, heat, and open flame. Closed containers may
explode if exposed to extreme heat. Applying to hot surfaces requires special precautions.
V HEALTH HAZARD DATA
PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: Skin, eyes, inhalation.
CARCINOGEN INFORMATION: Not listed (OSHA, IARC, NTP).
MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY OVEREXPOSURE: No applicable information found.
EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE: Irritation of skin and respiratory tract, and potentially severe irritation of eyes. Inhaling or
swallowing large quantities may cause damage to health.
Signs and symptoms of overexposure include headache, blurred vision, constricted visual fields, shortness of breath
dizziness and vertigo. Ingestion of methanol may lead to blindness and death. Ethyl alcohol is an irritant to the eyes and
mucous membranes. Overexposure has been shown to cause central nervous system depression. Direct contact with the
eyes will cause burning and stinging.
EYE CONTACT: Direct liquid or mist contact may cause severe irritation. Irritant properties are expected to diminish somewhat upon
dilution.
SKIN CONTACT: Contact with skin may cause severe irritation. Irritant properties are expected to diminish somewhat upon dilution.
INHALATION: High concentrations or prolonged exposure to lower concentrations may cause severe respiratory tract irritation and
may cause central nervous systems effects.
INGESTION: Swallowing large quantities may cause damage to health. Ingestion is not a likely route of exposure in industrial use.
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
EYE CONTACT: If in eyes, flush with large amounts of water for 15 minutes, holding eyelids apart to ensure flushing of the entire eye
surface. Get medical attention. If persistent irritation occurs, get medical attention.
SKIN CONTACT: Remove excess material from the skin with a waterless skin cleaner. Flush skin with plenty of water and wash well
with water and soap. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Get medical attention
immediately.
INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. Give artificial respiration if not breathing. Keep person warm, quiet, and get medical attention
immediately.
INGESTION:. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If conscious, induce vomiting by using a finger or other object
such as a spoon to tickle the back of the throat. If unconscious and vomiting, turn the person on their side to avoid choking.
Keep head below hips to avoid aspiration.
NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: This material releases methyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol upon hydrolysis. Methyl alcohol causes optic
neuropathy, metabolic acidosis, and respiratory depression.
VI REACTIVITY DATA
STABILITY: Relatively non-reactive, but will hydrolyze slowly at ambient temperatures to form methanol and ethanol.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Heat, sparks, and open flame. Atmospheric moisture (keep containers closed).
INCOMPATIBILITY (MATERIALS TO AVOID): Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents, water, acids, alkalies, metals, strong
bases, amines.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION OR DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS: Silicon dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and various
hydrocarbon fragments.

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
SPILL, LEAK, WASTE DISPOSAL PROCEDURES: Eliminate potential sources of ignition. Wear appropriate respirator and other
protective clothing. Shut off source of leak only if safe to do so. Dike and contain to prevent contact with soil, sewers and
water. Remove with explosion-proof equipment. Soak up residue with a noncombustible absorbent such as clay or
vermiculite; place in drums for proper disposal.
WASTE DISPOSAL METHODS: This product is classified under USEPA regulations as a hazardous waste for the characteristic of
ignitability. Dispose of in a facility approved under RCRA regulations for hazardous waste. Containers must be leak proof
and properly labeled. Empty containers must be treated as hazardous due to residual liquids and fumes. Drain completely
and dispose in a sanitary landfill (check local restrictions).
VIII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: In absence of proper engineering controls, if the OSHA TLV is exceeded for any listed substance in
this product wear a NIOSH approved supplied air respirator. Regulations also permit the use of a full-face respirator with
organic vapor cartridges for acetic acid exposure. If feasible, engineering or administrative controls should be implemented to
reduce exposure. Prevent overexposure in accordance with 29CFR 1910.134.
Concentrate should be handled in open, well-ventilated areas. During application, avoid atomization of product. If nuisance
mists are present, use a NIOSH approved dust/mist respirator to avoid contact with respiratory system.
VENTILATION: Provide sufficient general and/or local exhaust ventilation to maintain exposure as low as possible. Use explosion-
proof ventilation as required to control vapor concentrations as low as possible. Vapors are heavier than air, exhaust at floor
level.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING: Wear protective clothing as required to prevent skin contact.
PROTECTIVE GLOVES: Wear chemical-resistant gloves, such as nitrile rubber.
EYE PROTECTION: Chemical splash goggles in compliance with OSHA regulations are advised when handling concentrates and
dilute product. Depending on size of the project and application methods, use of safety glasses with side shields may be
sufficient for use with dilute product. Use is at the discretion of the employer and should be compliant with OSHA General
Duty rules. Do not wear contact lenses because they may contribute to the severity of an eye injury.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Chemical-resistant boots and headgear as needed. An eyewash should be available near the
work area. Provide clean water for body rinsing.
IX SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
WORK PRACTICES: Proper work practices and planning should be utilized to avoid contact with workers, passersby, and non-
masonry surfaces. Do not atomize during application. Beware of wind drift. See the Product Data sheet and label for
specific precautions to be taken during use. This product concentrate is flammable! Always bond and ground containers
during transfer. Use caution when applying dilute product to hot surfaces or in heated environments. Eliminate all sources of
ignition, even remote sources, as vapors may travel some distance. Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited during
the use of this product. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of a shift.
This product will continue to evolve ethyl alcohol and methyl alcohol during curing. Continue ventilation as needed during
curing.
PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORAGE: Store away from oxidizing materials in a cool, dry place with
adequate ventilation. Keep away from heat and open flames. Keep containers tightly closed when not dispensing product.
Wash up with soap and water before eating, drinking, smoking or using toilet facilities.
Containers of this material may be hazardous when emptied, since emptied containers retain product residues (vapor, liquid,
and/or solid). All hazard precautions given in the Data sheet must be observed. Vent containers frequently, and more often
in warm temperatures, to relieve pressure. Do not use pressure to empty the containers. Ground equipment to prevent
accumulation of static charge. Containers must be bonded and grounded when pouring or transferring this material. Use
only non-sparking tools. Do not cut, grind, weld, or drill on or near this container.
Do not store near strong acids or oxidizing agents. Exercise due caution to prevent damage to or leakage from the container.
