SECTION 5 - HEALTH INFORMATION
PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE AND TARGET ORGANS

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE
(1) ACUTE OVEREXPOSURE
Signs and symptoms may include irritation of the skin after contact. Entry into the body may result in vomiting,
lacrimation, salivation, labored breathing, diarrhea, hyperirritability, headache, lightheadedness, convulsions, miosis
with loss of accommodation, hyperhidrosis, muscle fasciculations, sphincter failure, coma, and death.
(2) CHRONIC OVEREXPOSURE
May produce cholinesterase depression. Inhalation of talc dust may permanently damage the lungs and result in the
development of pneumoconiosis, silicosis, or other respiratory disorders. Skin contact may result in irritation.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
EYE AND SKIN CONTACT: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at lest 15 minutes, holding eyelids apart to ensure
flushing of the entire eye surface. Get medical attention immediately. Wash contaminated skin with soap and water.
Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash clothing before reuse and discard footwear which cannot be
decontaminated. Seek medical attention. INHALATION: Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician. IF SWALLOWED: Induce vomiting immediately by giving two
glasses of water and sticking finger down throat. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. NOTE TO
PHYSICIAN: Give one to two 1/100 grain Atropine tablets, and repeat in one hour if necessary.

Do not contaminate feed, food stuffs, or water supplies. Workers should be furnished clean outer clothing and required
to shower at the end of exposure period. Launder clothing before reuse.
