UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS
Decomposes upon heating to liberate ammonia. Avoid dispersion of dust in air to reduce potential explosion hazard.
Runoff from fire control or dilution water may cause pollution. In case of water pollution, call local authorities.
SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES
Wear pressure-demand, self-contained breathing apparatus, MSHA/NIOSH approved or equivalent, and full protective
gear. Avoid inhalation of fumes and dust. Isolate area and keep unnecessary people away. Fight fire form maximum
distance.
SECTION 5 - HEALTH INFORMATION
PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE AND TARGET ORGANS
Eye and skin contact, inhalation, ingestion.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE
(1) ACUTE OVEREXPOSURE
Ingestion of large quantities may cause symptoms of non-specific irritation of the gastrointestinal tract; nausea,
vomiting, cramps, and diarrhea. Severe metabolic acidosis followed by myotonia, myoglobinauria and elevated serum
creating phosphokinasa may also result. Eye and skin contact may result in local irritation. Inhalation of high
concentrations may result in upper respiratory tract irritation.
(2) CHRONIC OVEREXPOSURE
Inhalation of dust may permanently damage the lungs and result in the development of pneumoconiosis, silicosis, or
other respiratory disorders. Allergic sensitivity may develop in some individuals.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS GENERALLY AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE
Disorders of respiratory system, nervous or muscular system, dermatitis, or other skin disorders.
CHEMICAL/COMPONENT LISTED AS CARCINOGEN OR POTENTIAL CARCINOGEN
Attapulgite, crystalline silica.

OTHER EXPOSURE LIMITS
PEL (amorphous silica)=6mg/m3 TLV (nuisance dusts)=10mg/m3
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
INGESTION: Induce vomiting immediately by giving two glasses of water and sticking finger down throat. Never give
anything to an unconscious person. Call a physician. EYE CONTACT: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for
at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids apart to ensure flushing of the entire lids with water. Obtain medical attention if
irritation persists. Oils or ointments should not be used unless directed by a physician. SKIN CONTACT:
Immediately wash skin with soap and water. INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial
respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.
