PRIMARY ROUTES OF EXPOSURE AND TARGET ORGANS
Inhalation, eye and skin contact, ingestion
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EXPOSURE
(1) ACUTE OVEREXPOSURE
Inhalation may cause mild irritation to the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract; nausea. Ingestion may cause symptoms of
abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, excessive salivation, thirst, perspiration, painful spasms of the limbs, and possibly
albuminuria.
(2) CHRONIC OVEREXPOSURE
Absorption of excessive amounts of fluoride over a long period of time will result in increased radiographic density.
Prolonged or repeated exposure may result in the development of pneumoconiosis, silicosis, or other respiratory
disorders.

INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. If breathing is
difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician. EYE OR SKIN CONTACT: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at
least 15 minutes. Call a physician. Flush skin with water. Wash clothing before reuse. INGESTION: Induce vomiting
immediately by giving two glasses of water and sticking finger down throat. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person.
