HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
Health Effects

Swallowed: The paste is irritating and harmful if swallowed, which may
result in nausea, pain and vomiting. Considered an unlikely route of entry in
commercial/industrial environments.

Eye: Is irritating to the eyes and is capable of causing temporary impairment
of vision, eye inflammation and ulceration.
Skin: Prolonged exposure may be irritating to the skin. Capable of causing
dermatitis and sensitisation in some cases. This could result in rash, itching,
hives or swelling of extremities. Sensitisation may appear after repeated
symptom-free exposures. Open cuts, abraded or irritated skin should not be
exposed to this material. Material may accentuate any pre-existing skin
conditions.
Inhaled: Not normally a hazard at normal temperatures, but hazard is
increased at higher temperatures. Vapour or mist is irritating to the upper
respiratory tract. Inhalation of vapour may result in nausea and headache.

First Aid
Swallowed: DO NOT induce vomiting. Give a glass of water. Contact a
doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
Eye: The eye should be flushed with water for 15 minutes. Ensure irrigation
under eyelids. Contact lenses should be removed by skilled personnel only.
Transport to hospital or doctor without delay.
Skin: Wash contacted areas thoroughly with soap and water. Do not use
solvents. Contact doctor in event of irritation.
Inhaled: Remove patient to fresh air. Lay patient down and keep warm. If
breathing has ceased, ensure clear airway and apply artificial respiration.
Transport to hospital or doctor without delay.
Advise to Doctors: Treat symptomatically.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Exposure Limits: None assigned for mixture. Refer to individual
constituents:
Bisphenol A epoxy resin - none assigned for material. Data for residual
epichlorohydrin only:

Epichlorohydrin TLV TWA: 0.1 ppm, 0.38 mg/m3 - skin.
ES TWA: 0.1 ppm, 0.4 mg/m3 - skin
Alkyl C12 to C14 glycidyl ether - no exposure limits set by NOHSC or
ACGIH.
Engineering Controls: Use in well ventilated area. If risk of overexposure
exists, wear SAA approved, air purifying type respirator. Correct fit is
essential. Wear SAA approved dust respirator if cutting or sanding.
Personal Protection: Safety glasses or chemical goggles should be worn.
Contact lenses pose a special hazard as they may absorb irritants. Barrier
cream should be used and PVC gloves worn. Overalls and safety footwear
should be worn. An eyewash unit should be available.

SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage: Product should be stored in a metal or plastic container away from
oxidising materials. Keep containers sealed in a cool, well ventilated area.
Transportation: No restrictions.
Spills and Disposal: Isolate spill and soak up with inert material such as
clay or sand. Avoid breathing vapours and contact with skin and eyes.
Prevent spillage from entering drains or watercourse. Collect and place in
sealed container. Ensure adequate ventilation during clean-up process.
Dispose of in an approved waste disposal facility.
Fire/Explosion Hazard: Slight fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame.
Dangerous Decomposition Products: Carbon monoxide may be produced
on burning.
Contact Point: Technical Manager, phone (03) 9701 3955 (business hours.)
