Health Effects
Swallowed: Of low oral toxicity. Ingestion is not expected to occur in
normal industrial use.
Eye: Uncured product and vapour may irritate eyes.
Skin: Uncured product will irritate lips, gums and tongue. Uncured product
may irritate skin.
Inhaled: Causes mild respiratory irritation.
First Aid
Swallowed: Induce vomiting using Ipecac Syrup if available. Contact a
doctor or Poisons Information Centre.
Eye: The eye should be flushed with water for 15 minutes, padded and the
patient taken to hospital.
Skin: Contaminated clothing should be removed and skin washed
thoroughly with detergent and water.
Inhaled: Remove to fresh air. Seek medical advice if any reaction persists..

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Exposure Limits: (NH & MRC Occupational Health Guide - May 1986)
Occupational exposure limits for the product itself have not been
established. The most hazardous component, sodium pentachlorophenate
will become evident by irritating nasal tissues well before it forms
dangerous concentrations in air. The level of sodium pentachlorophenate
makes it unlikely to cause any significant hazard.
Ventilation: Use in a well ventilated area.
Personal Protection: Respiratory protection not required under normal
conditions. Rubber or PVC gloves should be worn to avoid skin contact.
Safety glasses should be worn.
Flammability: The product will not burn at normal temperatures.
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
Storage and Transport: No restrictions.
Spills and Disposal: Contain spill with dry sand or soil, shovel up and
remove. Dispose of in an approved waste disposal facility.
Fire/Explosion Hazard: Product is not flammable. Dried film can burn if
in contact with flame.
Extinguishing Media: Use dry chemical, vaporising liquid, CO2 or foam.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Wear self contained breathing
apparatus in confined spaces.
Dangerous Decomposition Products: Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide
and hydrocarbons may be produced on burning.
