material is heated or high vapor/aerosol concentrations are attained, central nervous system
depression may occur, which is characterized by drowsiness, dizziness, confusion or loss of
coordination.

May cause vomiting. Aspiration of liquid while vomiting may injure lungs seriously. No
known effects associated with repeated or prolonged exposure.

detergents. Dispose of saturated absorbant or cleaning materials appropriately, since

Provide ventilation during use to control acetic acid within exposure guidelines or use
respiratory protection. Avoid eye contact. Avoid skin contact. Avoid breathing vapors, mist,
dust or fumes. Keep container closed. Do not take internally.

Use reasonable care and store away from oxidizing materials. Keep container closed and

8. Exposure Controls and Personal Protection
Exposure Controls
Acetic acid is formed upon contact with water or humid air. Provide adequate ventilation to
control exposures within guidelines of OSHA PEL: TWA 10 ppm and ACGIH TLV: TWA 10
ppm, STEL 15 ppm.

Safety goggles or glasses with side shields are recommended.
Skin Protection
Wash at mealtimes and end of shift. Contaminated clothing and shoes should be removed

Use respiratory protection unless adequate exhaust ventilation is provided or exposure

exposure to any hazardous chemical limited. Use a positive pressure air supplied respirator
if there is any potential for uncontrolled release, exposure level are unknown, or any other
circumstance where air purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection.
