LEL (Lower Explosion Limit): 0.7% (solvent) UEL (Upper Explosion Limit): 6% (solvent)
Auto-ignition Temperature: Not Established Decomposition Temperature: Not Established

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: If water fog is ineffective, use carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam.

UNUSUAL PRODUCTS OF IGNITION: N/A

UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS: Never use welding or cutting torch on or near container
(even empty). Product, residue or vapor may ignite. See section IX for additional precautions.

SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING PROCEDURES: During a fire, personnel at the scene are to prevent exposure
to fumes using accepted fire fighting techniques.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION V - HEALTH HAZARD DATA
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROUTES OF ENTRY AND EFFECTS OF OVEREXPOSURE:
EYE CONTACT - Can cause irritation.

SKIN CONTACT - Can cause irritation, dermatitis.

INHALATION - Can cause headache, dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, stupor, irritation to
respiratory system.

INGESTION - Ethylene glycol may be harmful or fatal if swallowed. May produce CNS depression and
kidney damage, which may be fatal.

EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID:
IF ON SKIN - Wash area of contact thoroughly with hand cleaner followed by soap and water. If
irritation, rash or other disorders develop, get medical attention immediately.

IF IN EYES - Flush immediately with running water for 15 minutes, lifting the upper and lower
lids occasionaly. Get medical attention immediately.

IF INGESTED - Get medical attention immediately.

IF INHALED - Leave area to breathe fresh air. Avoid further overexposure. If symptoms persist,
get medical attention immediately.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE: Chronic respiratory disorders.

POTENTIAL EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR CHRONIC EXPOSURE: Reports have associated repeated and
prolonged occupational overexposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage.
Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling contents may be harmful or fatal.
Asphalt contains small amounts of polynuclear aromatic compounds which have been shown to cause
cancer and respiratory damage in laboratory animals. IARC concluded that there is sufficient
evidence for carcinogenicity of crystalline silica (quartz) in experimental animals, but only
limited evidence in humans. Prolonged and repeated overexposure to free crystalline silica dust
above the TLV level may cause scarring of the lungs with cough and shortness of breath. A
delayed lung injury, silicosis may result from breathing free silica.

OTHER HEALTH HAZARD DATA: Overexposure to mineral spirits can adversely affect the lung, CNS or
cardiac system. Prolonged and repeated exposure caused kidney damage in male rats. Overexposure
to ethylene glycol has been suggested to cause CNS, kidney and liver abnormalities. Ingestion at
high concentrations produced dose-related teratogenic effects in laboratory animals.

Order Code: 363940 805

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION: Hazardous polymerization will not occur.

STABILITY: Stable

INCOMPATABILITY: Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION VII - SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLEAN-UP: Remove sources of ignition immediately. Ventilate to reduce the airborne contaminant
concentration below the exposure limit in Section II of the MSDS. Absorb spill in sand, earth or
other suitable material. Transfer to appropriate container for disposal.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD: Subject to hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal requirements
under RCRA. Incinerate at EPA approved facility or dispose of in compliance with federal, state
and local regulations.

EPA HAZARDOUS WASTE NUMBER: D001
EPA REPORTABLE QUANTITY: 100#

NATIONAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE CENTER: 800-424-8802 OR 202-426-2675
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION VIII - PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT TO BE USED
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VENTILATION: Use local exhaust when the general ventilation is not sufficient to keep the
airborne contaminant concentration below the exposure limit in Section II of the MSDS.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Wear appropriate, properly fitted NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator when
the airborne contaminant level(s) exceed the exposure limits indicated on the MSDS. Follow
respirator manufacturer's directions for respirator use.

SKIN PROTECTION: Protect hands with impervious rubber gloves and wear rubber apron and
overshoes. Prevent contact with skin.

EYE PROTECTION: Chemical splash goggles.

FACE PROTECTION: Face shield is recommended.

OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Other equipment not normally required.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SECTION IX - SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS OR OTHER COMMENTS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STORAGE, HANDLING AND APPLICATION: Store in closed container below 80F. Keep liquid and vapor
away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not store in direct sunlight. Prevent inhalation of vapor,
ingestion, and contact with skin and eyes. Keep container closed when not in use. Vapor may
migrate to sources of ignition. Do not smoke, weld, generate sparks, or use flame near
container. Change soiled workclothes frequently. Clean hands thoroughly after handling.

PRECAUTIONS FOR REPAIR AND MAINTANENCE OF CONTAMINATED EQUIPMENT: Personal protective equipment
must be worn during maintanence or repair of contaminated mixer, reactor, or other equipment.

OTHER: Precautions also apply to emptied containers.

FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
THE HAZARD INFORMATION HEREIN IS OFFERED SOLELY FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE USER,
SUBJECT TO HIS OWN INVESTIGATION AND VERIFICATION OF COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE REGULATIONS,
INCLUDING THE SAFE USE OF THE PRODUCT UNDER EVERY FORESEEABLE CONDITION.
