Extingu ishing Media: Use suitable extinguishing agent for surrounding material and type of fire.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Firefighters must wear full face, self-contained breathing apparatus with full protective clothing
to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Fumes from fire are hazardous. Isolate runoff to prevent environmental pollution.

Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazard: When heated to decomposition, indium sulfate may emit toxic fumes of SO x. May react
violently with magnesium and aluminum.

V HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION

Effects of Exposure:

To the best of o ur know ledge the chem ical, ph ysical and toxicolog ical pro perties of ind ium sulfate have not been thoro ugh ly
investigated and recorded.

To the best of our knowledge the acute and chronic toxicity of indium is not fully known. Exposure to indium compounds
ma y cau se pain in the joints and bon es, tooth decay, nerv ous and gastro intestina l disord ers, heart pain and general debility.
Experim ents with animals also indicate that indium m ay cause reduced food and water consum ption with weight loss, pulmon ary
edema, pneumonia, blood, liver and kidney damage, leg paralysis and damage to the brain, heart, adrenals and spleen.

Sulfates have variable toxicity. In general the toxic properties of substances containing the sulfate radical is that the
materials (cation) with wh ich the sulfate (anion) is comb ined. (Sax, Dangerou s Properties of Industrial Materials, eighth edition).

Acute E ffects:

Inhalation: May cause damage to the respiratory system.
Ingestion: Mo derately tox ic by ingestion. M ay ca use irritation to the gastrointestinal tract.
Skin : May cause irritation.
Eye: May cause irritation.

Chro nic Effects:

Inhalation: May cause pneum onitis.
Ingestion: No chronic health effects recorded.
Skin : No chronic health effects recorded.
Eye: No chronic health effects recorded.

Routes of Entry: Inhalation, Inge stion, eye an d skin contact.
Target Organs: Ma y affe ct the lungs and heart.

Carcino genicity: NTP? No IARC M onographs? No OSH A Regulated? No
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Pre-existing lun g, skin and gastroin testinal disorders.

EMERG ENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:

INHALATION: Remove victim to fresh air. Keep warm and quiet. Give oxygen if breathing is difficult and seek medical attention
if sym ptom s persist.
INGESTION: Give 1-2 glasses of milk or water and induce vomiting; seek medical attention. Never induce vomiting or give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
SK IN: Remove contaminated clothing; brush material off skin; wash affected area with mild soap and water. Seek medical attention
if sym ptom s persist.
EYES: Flush eyes with lukewarm water, lifting upper and lower eyelids for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if symptoms
persist.

Hazardous Polymerization: Will not occur.

VII SPILL OR LEAK PROC EDURES

Steps to Be Taken in Case Material Is Released or Spilled: We ar appropriate respira tory and protective equipm ent specified in
Section VIII- Special Protection Information. Isolate spill area and provide ventilation. Vacuum up spill using a high efficiency
particulate absolute (H EPA) air filter and place in a closed container fo r proper d isposal. Tak e care not to raise dust.

Waste Disposal Method: In accord ance w ith Loca l, State and Federal regu lations.

VIII SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION

Respiratory Protection (Specify Type): NIOSH approved dust respirator.
