Effects of Exposure:

To the best of our knowledge the chemical, physical and toxicological properties of iridium chloride have not been
thoroug hly in vestigated and repo rted. E xpo sure to iridium com pou nds ma y cau se irritation to the eyes o r respiratory tract. To xicity
of iridium is not known. It is predicted to have toxicity similar to osmium and platinum, two mem bers of the same group. The
chloride ion generally has a very low toxicity.

Inhalation: Irritant
Ingestion: No data
Skin : Irritant
Eye: Irritant

Sensitization: No sensitizing effects known.
Carcino genicity: No classification data on carcinogenic properties of this material is available from the EPA, IARC, NTP, OSHA or
ACGIH.

EMERG ENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES:

INHALATION: Rem ove patien t from area o f exp osure to fre sh air. If re quired, provide artificial respiration. Kee p patient w arm .
Contact a physician immediately.
INGESTION: Contact poison control center/physician immediately.
SK IN: Immediately wash with soap and water for 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Seek immediate medical advice.
EYE: Flush with eye bath, including under eye lids, for at least 15 m inutes. Consult a doctor.

housekeeping and sanitation practices. Do not use tobacco or food in work area. Wash thoroughly before eating or smoking. Do not
blow dust off clothing or skin with compressed air. Maintain eyewash capable of sustained flushing, safety drench shower and
facilities for washing.
