Reactive with oxidizing agents, reducing agents, metals, alkalis.
REACTIVITY, AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS
Incompatible with oxidizing agents, potassium tartrate, alkali, alkaline earth carbonates and bicarbonates, acetates, and sulfides, and metal nitrates. Will
corrode copper, zinc, aluminum and their alloys.
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS
Possibly hazardous short term degradation products are not likely. However, long term degradation products may arise. The products of degradation are less
toxic than the product itself.
SECTION 6 - TOXICOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
ROUTE OF ENTRY
INGESTION
INHALATION
SKIN CONTACT SKIN ABSORPTION EYE CONTACT
EFFECTS OF ACUTE EXPOSURE TO PRODUCT
Hazardous in case of ingestion. Severe over-exposure can result in death.
Hazardous in case of eye contact (irritant), of inhalation (lung irritant). Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, sensitizer).
Skin: May cause skin irritation. The amount of tissue damage depends on length of contact. Skin contact can produce inflammation and blistering. Causes
mild to moderate skin irritation. May cause skin sensitization, an allergic reaction, which becomes evident upon re-exposure to this material.
Eyes: Dust may cause mechanical irritation. Eye contact can result in corneal damage or blindness. Causes moderate to severe eye irritation and possible
injury.
Inhalation: May cause respiratory tract irritation. Inhalation causes moderate respiratory tract and mucous membrane irritation. Severe over-exposure can
produce lung damage, choking, unconsciousness or death.

Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed in large amounts. May cause gastrointestinal (digestive) tract irritation with epigastric pain, abdominal cramps, nausea,
vomiting and diarrhea. Affects metabolism and cardiovascular system with symptoms including increase in metabolism, flushing, palpitations, rapid heart rate,
dysrhythmias, hypotension, blood pressure elevation and weight loss, metabolic acidosis. May cause gastrointestinal (digestive) tract irritation with nausea,
vomiting, diarrhea. Excessive intake may cause erosion of teeth and hypocalcemia (calcium deficiency in blood).

May affect brain and behavior/central nervous system.. Symptoms may include nervousness, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, dizziness, tremor, seizures,
convulsions, hallucinations, somnolence, toxic psychosis, tremors, convulsions, ataxia. May also affect blood, respiration (hyperventilation), and urinary sy
(mild increase in urinary volume and urinary sodium excretion), and may directly produce hypokalemia. May affect behavior/central nervous system (tremor,
convulsions, muscle contraction or spasticity).
EFFECTS OF CHRONIC EXPOSURE TO PRODUCT
CARCINOGENIC EFFECTS: 3 (Not classifiable for human.) by IARC. May cause cancertumorigenic) based on animal data. May cause cancer
(
(tumorigen) based on animal studies.
MUTAGENIC EFFECTS: Mutagenic for mammalian somatic cells. Mutagenic for bacteria and/or yeast. May affect genetic material ( mutagenic).
May cause adverse reproductive effects fetotoxicity, maternal parnutrition) and birth defects. May cause reproductive and fetal effects.
(

Repeated exposure of the eyes to a low level of dust can produce eye irritation.
Repeated skin exposure can produce local skin destruction, or dermatitis.
Repeated inhalation of dust can produce varying degree of respiratory irritation or lung damage.
Repeated or prolonged exposure to the substance can produce target organs damage. Repeated exposure to a highly toxic material may produce general
deterioration of health by an accumulation in one or many human organs.
Hazardous in case of ingestion. Hazardous in case of inhalation (lung irritant).Slightly hazardous in case of skin contact (irritant, sensitizer), of inhalation.
Frequent intake of citrated beverages may cause erosion of dental enamel and irritation of mucous membranes.
Since it is a CNS stimulant, it may also affect the Central Nervous System (CNS).
The substance may be toxic to teeth, heart, central nervous system (CNS).

May cause damage to the following organs: teeth, heart, central nervous system (CNS).
May cause digestive tract disturbances (increased gastric acid, and pepsin secretion and a decrease in lower esophageal sphincter pressure), cardiovascular
disturbances.
EXPOSURE LIMITS
No exposure guidelines have been established. ACGIH, NIOSH and OSHA have not developed exposure limits for this product. The exposure limits given
below are for particulates not otherwise classified:
ACGIH: 10 mg/m3 TWA (Total Respirable fraction); 3 mg/m3 TWA (Respirable fraction)
OSHA: 15 mg/m3 TWA (Total dust); 5 mg/m3 TWA (Respirable Fraction)

FOOTWEAR (SPECIFY) CLOTHING (SPECIFY) OTHER (SPECIFY)
No Coveralls / Lab coat Eyewash equipment nearby
ENGINEERING CONTROLS (SPECIFY eg. VENTILATION, ENCLOSED PROCESS)
Use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to keep airborne levels below
recommended exposure limits. If user operations generate dust, fume or mist, use ventilation to keep exposure to
airborne contaminants below the exposure limit.
LEAK AND SPILL PROCEDURE
Use appropriate tools to put the spilled solid in a convenient waste disposal container.
WASTE DISPOSAL
According to local, provincial, and federal regulations.
HANDLING PROCEDURES AND EQUIPMENT
Keep away from heat. Keep away from sources of ignition. Ground all equipment containing material. Do not ingest. Do
not breathe dust. Avoid contact with eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear
suitable respiratory equipment. If ingested, seek medical advice immediately and show the container or the label. Keep
away from incompatibles such as oxidizing agents, reducing agents, metals, alkalis.
STORAGE REQUIREMENTS
Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Container may be hazardous when
empty since they retain product residues (Dust, Solids) observe all warnings and precautions listed for the product
