Store in original packages as approved by manufacturer. Store in a cool place out of direct sulight.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION
Exposure Standards

No exposure standards are available for this product, however, the following exposure standards have been assigned by
[NOHSC] to the following components of the product:

N,N-DIMETHYLACETAMIDE
[NOHSC]
[TWA]10 ppm 36 mg/m3

Notices: Sk

Sk Notation:
The main route of most hazardous substances into the body is via inhalation, however, certain substances such as
ethylene glycol monoethyl ether can readily penetrate the skin, with resultant toxic effects. The notice 'Sk' indicates that
absorption can occur through the skin.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION (Continued)
Engineering Controls
Only trained personnel who are aware of the hazard(s) should enter rooms or storage sites that contain this product.
Toxic and oxidizing material. Single significant exposure may cause severe injury or death. Maintain adequate
ventilation at all times. Prevent accumulation of gas(es) in hollows or sumps. Eliminate any sources of ignition. DO
NOT enter room unless monitored by another person (ie buddy-buddy system).

Personal Protection Equipment
CLOTHING: Nitrile or neoprene apron.
GLOVES: Nitrile or neoprene.
EYES: Chemical goggles or faceshield to protect eyes.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: Avoid breathing of gases. Select and use respirators in accordance with AS/NZS
1715/1716. When the concentration of airborne contaminants reach the exposure standards then the use of a half-face
respirator with acid vapour cartridge is recommended. For high concentration use an atmosphere-supplied, positive
pressure demand self-contained or airline breathing apparatus supplied air respirator complying with the requirements
of AS/NZS 1715 is recommended. Filter capacity and respirator type depends on exposure levels.
If entering spaces where the airborne concentration of a contaminant is unknown then the use of a Self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) with positive pressure air supply complying with AS/NZS 1715 / 1716, or any other
acceptable International Standard is recommended. The use of fully-encapsulating, gas-tight suits is also recommended.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No adverse health effects are expected, if the product is handled in accordance with this Material Safety Data Sheet and
the product label. Symptoms and effects that may arise if the product is mishandled and overexposure occurs are:

ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS:
Swallowed:
Toxic if swallowed. May cause irritation to mouth, throat and stomach with effects including pains in the stomach,
which may lead to nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Eye:
Will cause severe irritation to the eyes with effects including: tearing, pain, corneal opacity and blurred vision. If
prompt action is not taken permanent eye damage may occur.

Skin:
Toxic by skin contact. Will cause irritation to the skin, with effects including; Redness, itchiness, and drying/defatting.

Inhaled:
Very toxic if inhaled. Mists will cause irritation to the respiratory system.

Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated skin contact may lead to dermatitis. Prolonged contact may cause severe eye irritation and some
form of permanent eye damage may occur. Product may also be absorbed through the skin with resultant toxic effects.
Prolonged or repeated exposure may lead to irreversible damage to health.
Prolonged or repeated inhalation exposure may lead to cancer. Prolonged or repeated contact with this substance will
cause sensitisation by skin contact.

CALCIUM DICHROMATE has been classified as a CATEGORY 2 CARCINOGEN ACCORDING TO EU
CRITERIA. Probable human carcinogens are those substances for which there is sufficient evidence to provide a
strong presumption that human exposure might result in the development of cancer. This evidence is generally based
upon appropriate long term animal studies, limited epidemiological evidence or other relevant information.

CALCIUM DICHROMATE has been classified as a CATEGORY 2 MUTAGEN ACCORDING TO EU
CRITERIA. A substance is included in Category 2 if there is sufficient evidence to provide a strong presumption that
human exposure to the substance may result in the development of heritable genetic damage, generally on the basis of
appropriate animal studies and other relevant information.
Epidemiological studies in workers using carbon black in the USA and Western Europe show NO evidence of adverse
health effects due to occupational exposure to carbon black.

In its Monograph Volume 65, issued in April 1996, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) re-
evaluated carbon black. The following conclusions were reached:
There is inadequate evidence in humans for the carcinogenicity of carbon black.
There is sufficient evidence in experimental animals for the carcinogenicity of carbon black.
There is sufficient evidence in experimental animals for the carcinogenicity of carbon black extracts.
Overall evaluation
Carbon black is possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B).

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
