4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Swallowed:
If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Wash mouth out with water. If victim is fully conscious, give 1 - 2 glasses of
water to drink. Immediately transport to hospital or doctor.

Eye:
If dust enters the eyes, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, ensuring eye lids are held open. Immediately
transport to hospital or doctor.

Skin:
If dust is falls onto the skin, remove any contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. If
irritation persists seek urgent medical assistance.

Inhaled:
Remove victim to fresh air. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim inhaled the substance; induce artificial
respiration with the aid of a pocket mask equipped with a one-way valve or other proper respiratory medical device.
Administer oxygen if breathing is difficult.

First Aid Facilities:
Eye wash fountain, safety shower and normal wash room facilities.

Advice to Doctor:
Treat symptomatically.
In case of poisoning, contact Poisons Information Centre
In Australia call Tel: 131126

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Fire/Explosion Hazard
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: Foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
HAZARDS FROM COMBUSTION PRODUCTS: Fluorine entities, oxides of carbon, zinc oxide fume and noxious
smoke.
PRECAUTIONS FOR FIRE FIGHTERS AND SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Self-contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) required for fire -fighting personnel. If possible to do so safely, shut off fuel to fire. Avoid
spreading burning liquid with water used for cooling fire exposed containers when using water spray, boil-over may
occur when the product temperature reaches the boiling point of water, thereby resulting in re-ignition.

HAZCHEM CODE: 2W [Aust]

FLAMMABILITY
This material is a combustible paste. However, it does not met the criteria of being a flammable solid according to the
dangerous goods code.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Emergency Procedures:
Caution! This product is a corrosive and combustible material. Avoid generating dusts. Keep unnecessary people away;
Isolate hazard area and deny entry. If possible wet area down to prevent high dust levels. Wear protective equipment to
prevent skin and eye contact, as outlined under personal protection in this MSDS.

Methods and Materials for Containment and Clean Up Procedures:
Immediately throw diatamaceous earth (or other inert material) on top of the spill. If available, use dustless methods,
such as a HEPA vacuum and filter. Otherwise, use a non-sparking shovel and shovel into a suitably labeled container
for later disposal. Do not dry sweep.

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS:
Strong mineral acids (sulfuric, nitric and hydrochloric), and oxidizing agents.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Fluorine entities, oxides of carbon, zinc o xide fume and noxious smoke.

HAZARDOUS REACTIONS:
Will not occur.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
ACUTE HEALTH EFFECTS:
Swallowed:
Harmful if swallowed. Will cause burns to the mouth, mucous membranes, throat, oesophagus and stomach. If
sufficient quantities are ingested (swallowed) death may occur.

Eye:
Will cause burns to the eyes with effects including: Pain, tearing, conjunctivitis and if duration of exposure is long
enough, blindness will occur.

Skin:
Will cause burns to the skin, with effects including; Redness, blistering, localised pain and dermatitis.

Inhaled:
Under ambient conditions the solvent does not typically pose an inhalation problem. Under elevated temperatures it
could cause nasal and respiratory irritation, dizziness, weakness, fatigue, nausea, headache, possible unconsciousness,
and even asphyxiation. Brazing fumes can contain fluorides which irritate the eyes, nose and throat. Oxides of carbon
are produced can be fatal (in an area of limited or no ventilation). Fumes of copper and zinc may cause metal fume
fever with flu-like symptoms and skin and hair discolouration. Onset of symptoms may be delayed 4 to 12 hours, and
go away after 24 to48 hours and leave no lasting effect. Argyria, a blue-gray discolouration of the skin, mucous
membranes and eyes may result from the inhalation of silver. This discolouration may become permanent. Generally
nickel does not cause systemic poisoning, but nickel has been identified as a suspected carcinogen. There may be
adverse effects to the lungs and nasal cavities.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION (Continued)
Chronic:
Prolonged or repeated exposure may lead to irreversible damage to health. Prolonged or repeated skin contact will lead
to necrosis (death) of the skin.
Fluorosis may occur which is characterized by increased density of the bone. Fluoride may also deposit in tendons,
ligaments and muscles. Such deposition may result in crippling effects. Mottling of teeth is also common.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION
No information is available for this product, however, large quantities should not be discharged to waterways, sewers or
