Note: A biproduct of mixing ammonium bifluoride with water is hydrofluoric acid. Even small amounts,
hydofluoric acid may have devastating health effects. It may cause central nervous system, kidney, and
cardiovascular effects. Respiratory paralysis may cause death. Swallowing or absorbtion through the skin may
cause hypocalcemia and hypomagnesia. Effects are often delayed and may be a result of coming in contact with a
solution as dilute as 1% hydrofluoric acid.

Acute: Chronic:
Severe irritation or burns of eyes, skin, respiratory tract. Possible fluoride poisoning. Symptoms may be delayed.
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:
Mottling of teeth, burns, damage to bones - include brittle bones, weight loss, anemia, calcified ligaments and joint stiffness.

Section 4 - First Aid Measures
Routes of Entry and Emergency/First Aid Procedures
1. Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. Restore breathing if necessary. Get immediate medical attention.
2. Eyes:
Immediately flush with water for 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention.
3. Skin:
Immediately wash with water for 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing. Get immediate medical attention. Apply calcium
gluconate gel or soak in calcium gluconate solution.
4. Ingestion:
DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. Get
If conscious, give milk, chewable calcium carbonate tablets or milk of magnesia.
