made of 5-chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one a. 2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (3:1)
Appearance: White to light yellowish-brown powder with slight odour.
pH pH of a 1% solution is approximately neutral.
Auto flammability Auto ignition temperature is about 200掳C.
Solubility in water: Soluble, forming viscous solutions, becoming a paste at concentrations
greater than 3% approx,
Stability Product is stable.
Materials to avoid: Strong oxidisers. .
HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Extreme Slip Hazard: The presence of water and this product together on any surface will
result in that surface becoming extremely slippery.
HEALTH HAZARD DATA - Effects of over exposure.
INGESTION: No evidence of adverse effects from available information.
Acute Oral Toxicity: LD50>2000mg/kg (rat)
EYE CONTACT: Moderate eye irritant.
SKIN CONTACT: Possible skin irritant. May cause sensitization by skin contact.
INHALATION: No evidence of adverse effects from available information. However, excessive
inhalation of dust may be annoying, and can mechanically impede respiration, due to the
hygroscopic properties of the gum, i.e. it can form a paste or gel in the airway.
FIRST AID MEASURES
EYES: Flush eyes with copious amounts of water. If irritation develops, seek medical advice.
SKIN: Wash with soap and water. If irritation continues consult a doctor.

FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES:
Treat as "Class A" fire. Product will burn when in contact with a flame. SeIf-extinguishes when
ignition source is removed, but tends to smoulder. Use water spray and foam extinguishing
agents, or multi purpose dry powder extinguishers.
SPECIAL EXPOSURE HAZARDS: In common with most organic substances, this product
should be treated as a combustible dust when in the finely-divided and air suspended state.
Combustion products are those typical of ordinary combustion of organic material. Surfaces
that may be covered by the product will become extremely slippery upon application of water.
In the event of spillage - shovel, sweep or vacuum, if dry. CAUTION: The use of water
washdown is not recommended unless the spilled material is already wet. Wet material on a
walking surface will be extremely slippery. Wet spills should be thoroughly flushed to a drain
with water until non-slippery, and all traces have been removed.
HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING: Handling procedures should be such as to avoid excessive dust generation. lt is
recommended that local exhaust ventilation is used to reduce build up or spread of dust into
the atmosphere.
STORAGE: To maintain optimum product performance, store in a cool, dry place, in sealed
containers.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION: If handling generates dust levels which cause irritation, or
results in personal exposure exceeding the Occupational Exposure Standard (OES) of 10mg
M鲁 (8 hr TWA reference period) for total inhalable dust, then suitable approved dust respirator
should be used. Personal exposure to dust should ideally be controlled to the lowest level
possible below the OES.
HAND PROTECTION: Gloves are recommended if extended exposure anticipated.
EYE PROTECTION: The use of suitable eye protection is recommended if high dust
concentrations are present.
SKIN PROTECTION: Norma! working clothes.
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Local exhaust ventilation is recommended if handling
generates dust concentrations that exceed the OES.
Hazardous Decomposition: This product does not undergo spontaneous decomposition. The
thermal decomposition products may include carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Hazardous
Polymerisation will not occur.
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Acute Oral Toxicity: LD50>2000mg/kg (rat)
In case of ingestion, no damaging effects are known.
On skin, in case of longer direct contact with skin slight irritations of the skin are possible.
Sensitisation possible by skin contact.
