3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW: CAUTION. CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE. DO NOT use near heat, open flame. Do not
use near electrical equipment due to shock hazard. Harmful if swallowed or absorbed
through skin. Avoid contact with skin eyes and clothing. Avoid breathing vapor.
Contents under pressure DO NOT expose to temperatures above 130掳 F ( 54.4掳C ) or violent
bursting may occur. ALWAYS Wear Safety Glasses with side shields and all other
appropriate personal protective equipment when handling this material.
EYES: Can cause irritation with discomfort, tearing and blurred vision.
SKIN: Overexposure by skin contact may initially include a transient (several minutes up to approximately 24 hours)
persistent burning or prickling sensation which may be accompanied by visible irritation or rash.
INGESTION: May be harmful if swallowed. Overexposure by ingestion may initially include nonspecific discomfort, such as
nausea, vomiting, headache, or weakness; temporary nervous system effects such as muscular weakness, tremors
and lack of coordination.
INHALATION: May be harmful if inhaled. Excessive inhalation can cause nasal and respiratory irritation, nausea and nervous
disorders, such as fatigue, dizziness, headaches, lack of coordination, tremors and unconsciousness.
CARCINOGENICITY: None of the components present in this material at concentrations equal to or greater than 0.1% are listed by IARC,
NTP, OSHA or ACGIH as being carcinogens. In a recent study, marginally higher incidences of benign thyroid,
parathyroid, ovary and liver tumors were observed in rats and in lungs of mice following lifetime high dose exposures
to pyrethrum. Marginally higher incidences of benign liver tumors in mice were observed following lifetime high dose
exposures to PBO. The significance of these observations is questionable and under review. The doses at which
tumors were observed for pyrethrum and PBO greatly exceeded potential human exposure from labeled uses.
4. FIRST-AID MEASURES
FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 5-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present , after the first 5
minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
SKIN: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-30 minutes. Call a poison control center
or doctor for treatment advice.
INHALATION: Remove affected person to fresh air. If person is not breathing, call 911 or an ambulance, then give artificial respiration,
preferably mouth to mouth if possible. Call a poison control center or doctor for further treatment advise.
INGESTION: Call a poison control center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow.
DO NOT induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person.
NOTE TO PHYSICIANS: None
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
