Section 3 - Hazard Identification
Clear to light yellow liquid; slight rose-like odor.
Potential Health Effects
Skin Contact: May cause mild irritation. Prolonged contact will cause irritation, burn or dermatitis.
Eye Contact: Short-term contact will cause transient irritation. Prolonged contact may cause conjunctivitis,
burns and severe, irreversible damage to eye.
Ingestion: Large amounts may cause sore throat, nausea, abdominal pain, lung congestion, intoxication,
and liver and kidney damage.
Inhalation: Sufficient mist or spray inhalation may cause irritation or damage to upper respiratory tract or
lung tissue or induce coughing, chemical pneumonia and/or headache.
Section 4 - First Aid Measures
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected skin with soap and water.
Eye Contact: Flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists,
consult a physician.
Ingestion: Contact a physician immediately.
Inhalation: Person should be moved to a fresh air environment. Contact a physician if breathing is difficult.

Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: Dike and contain the spill with inert material (i.e., sand,
earth, sawdust) and transfer liquid and solid diking material to separate containers for recovery or disposal. Wash
floor area with hot water solution. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Wash affected skin areas
with soap and water. Keep spills out of all sewers and bodies of water.

The Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel found CoSept PEP鈥檚 components to be safe in present practices of use.
Phenoxyethanol is practically nontoxic by oral or dermal administration and is nonirritating and nonsensitizing to skin
and nonirritating to eyes at levels of up to 1%. The parabens are practically nontoxic by various routes of
administration and are practically nonirritating and nonsensitizing to normal skin at levels below 5%. Occasional
sensitization to parabens has been reported on damaged skin.
