6. HEALTH HAZARD DATA
ROUTE(S) OF ENTRY (FOR DUST): Inhalation: Yes Skin: No Eyes: Yes Ingestion: No
POTENTIAL HEALTH HAZARDS
Inhalation: Dusts generated by use of this product may cause acute respiratory tract irritation. Repeated or prolonged breathing of
fused silica or silicon dioxide dust may cause severe respiratory disease. Effects may include congestion and irritation of
the throat, nasal passages and upper respiratory system; inflammation of the lung; chest pain; difficult breathing;
coughing and possible delayed lung injury. Dust may aggravate existing chronic lung conditions such as bronchitis,
emphysema and asthma.
Skin Contact/Absorption: Inflammation from contact with open cuts may occur.
Eye Contact: Dust is lightly to moderately irritating. Abrasive action of dust may cause damage to the outer surface of the eye.
Ingestion: Nausea may result from accidental ingestion.
Special Toxic Effects: This product contains crystalline silica. Airborne dust generated during use of this product may contain
respirable silica, which is a known cause of silicosis, a noncancerous lung disease. Dust my also contain
cristobalite, a form of silica which can cause severe respiratory disease, pneumoconiosis. The International
Agency For Research on Cancer has classified crystalline silica s a probable (2A) carcinogen. National
Toxicology Program and OSHA have listed crystalline silica as a probable carcinogen.
EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
Inhalation of dust: Remove affected person from source of exposure. Consult physician or obtain competent medical assistance as
necessary.
Ingestion: Consult physician or obtain competent medical assistance.
Eye Contact (dust): Flush with water. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Skin Contact: Wash with soap and water.

7. PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE
Steps to be taken if material is released or spilled: If uncontaminated, recover and reuse. If contaminated, collect in suitable con-
tainers for disposal in landfill. Use dustless systems for handling storage, and cleanup so that airborne dust does not exceed the PEL.
Waste disposal method: Formed shapes and residual dust resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of in accordance
with Federal, State and Local regulations.
Precautions to be taken in handling and storing: Storage Temperature and Pressure: Not Applicable.
General: Do not breathe dust generated by use of this product. Avoid creating dust in closed areas without exhaust ventilation.
Use appropriate dust respirators or keep dust exposure below recommended TLV-PEL levels.
Other Precautions: Accumulation of forms or dust on floor may present a slippage hazard to personnel. Promptly clean up spilled
material.

8. SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION AND CONTROL MEASURES
Respiratory Protection: Use NIOSH, MSHA, or OSHA approved dust/mist respirators in accordance with 29 CFR 910.134, when
airborne exposure limits are exceeded.
Ventilation: Use local exhaust for dry tumbling. Mechanical dust collection system may be appropriate if dust generation exceeds
the PEL.
Protective Gloves: As needed to prevent irritation.
Eye Protection: Wear safety glasses or dust-proof safety goggles to prevent eye contact with dust
Other Protective Clothing or Equipment: Clothing which minimizes skin exposure to abrasive forms or dust.

9. REGULATORY INFORMATION
