irritating to the skin and may result in redness, swelling, burns, and skin damage. CAUTION:
Prolonged eye contact may cause corneal damage, eye burns, and irreversible damage.
Primary Route(s) of Exposure:
Ingestion: Not a likely source of exposure.
Skin: Irritation and redness.
Inhalation: Harmful contamination of the air will be reached rather slowly by evaporation only.
Spraying or dispersing liquid may create hazardous levels of material. Vapors or mist may cause
severe irritation.
Eye: Strong irritant; contact with liquid, mist or vapors may cause burning, tearing, redness, and
swelling.
Medical Conditions Generally Aggravated by Exposure: Skin contact may aggravate an existing
dermatitis (skin condition). Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause skin sensitization.
Overexposure to vapor, dust, or mist may aggravate existing respiratory conditions, such as asthma
or bronchitis. Repeated overexposure may aggravate existing liver or kidney disease.
Signs and Symptoms of Exposure:

4. Emergency and First-Aid Procedures
Ingestion: If large quantity swallowed, give two glasses of water (pint/0.5 liter) if victim completely
conscious/alert. Material is corrosive. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do by medical
personnel. Seek medical attention if symptoms develop.
Eye Contact: Immediately flush with water to remove. Seek medical help if irritation or discomfort
persists.
Skin Contact: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with mild soap and water. Get
medical help if irritation or discomfort persists.
Skin Absorption: Wash with soap and water. Do not attempt to neutralize with chemical agents.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Seek medical help if persistent irritation, severe coughing, or breathing
difficulty occurs.
Note to Physician: If medical assistance is necessary, have copies of this MSDS available.

5. Fire and Explosion Data
Material is considered a combustible liquid.
Flash Point (Method Used): > 220 掳F (closed cup)
LFL = 3% UFL = 23.5%
Flammable Limits:
Extinguishing Media: Foam, dry chemical, and carbon dioxide.
Autoignition Temperature: 410 掳C for 100% monoethanolamine.
Special Firefighting Procedures: Self-contained breathing apparatus in positive pressure mode and
protective clothing should be worn in chemical fires. Water may be ineffective, serving only to spread
product, but may be used to cool containers.
Unusual Fire and Explosion Hazards: It is recommended that containers be tightly closed and isolated
from heat, electrical equipment, and flame. A closed container could possibly explode when exposed
to extreme heat.

6. Accidental Release Measures
Steps to be Taken in Case Material is Released or Spilled: Dike and contain spill with absorbent
material such as clay or other commercially available material. Carefully neutralize spilled liquid.
Place in container for disposal. Wear safety glasses and rubber gloves to minimize exposure.

7. Handling and Storage

Precautions to be Taken in Handling and Storage: Follow standard industrial practices when handling
this product or empty containers. Avoid getting product on skin, eyes, or clothing. If contact with the
product occurs, remove affected clothing and wash with soap and water. Store in a cool, dry, well-
ventilated area away from incompatible materials. Avoid excessive hot or cold temperatures. Keep
containers tightly closed when not in use. Keep separated from strong oxidants, strong acids, and
aluminum.

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION 鈥? Under normal conditions of use, respiratory protection is not required.
If a fog or mist is produced, use NIOSH-approved respirator with organic vapor absorbing cartridges.
The respirator program must comply with OSHA and ANSI standards.
EYE PROTECTION 鈥? Chemical safety glasses recommended.
PROTECTIVE GLOVES 鈥? Chemically resistant rubber gloves are recommended.
OTHER PROTECTIVE CLOTHING OR EQUIPMENT 鈥? Eyewash station if potential for significant splash
hazard is present.
WORK/HYGIENE PRACTICES 鈥? Wash hands before eating, drinking, smoking, and at the end of the
shift.
Ventilation:
LOCAL EXHAUST 鈥? Provide local exhaust as needed so that exposure limits are met.
MECHANICAL (GENERAL) 鈥? Provide general ventilation in processing and storage areas so that
exposure limits are met.
SPECIAL 鈥? None.
